I didn't think that these were all that rare. I mean, there's probably not thousands of them running around, but I seam to remember one up at Pine Flats in the late 70's... Be curious to see what this sells for.

Sanger definately made more than 5. Maybe they only made 5 jet hydro's in 1980. What a clown!

Unfortunately that boat belongs to a friend of mine. He has tried to sell me that boat a couple of times. "Why the hell would I want a jet hydro?" was always my response. If it were a v-drive I would have bought it years ago. Nice boat, too bad it is a jet hydro. I bought his dad's motorhome last week though.

The Chevy in the background is some other project he is working on. Damn truck makes me feel short. When I stand next to the truck I am looking at the
bottom part of the door.

I guess it does have a front end under it, but I can't see the rear suspension.

I like the "needs little or none work to be complete" I guess that means its a turn key boat. Tim

Mean Dave, mean. Either way it would be a bitchen boat if it was a REAL hydro. Everyone should be proud of their toys no matter what they are. You guys are going to make me cry....

How well can you get the jet hydro to run.The paint job looks great.

You know whats funny I bet you could still make that thing run faster then a lot of peoples boats on here that talk shit about them. Yeah I said it. I am sure you can get it to run in the 90's with a little work and lots of people talk all kinds of trash. I think the hydro is general looks really bitchen and If i wanted one I would buy one and try to push it to 100 just to rub it in some peoples faces. How many people that are boaters really want to do 150. Some people are happy with 90 and a jet hydro i would bet will do that and look bitchen while at it.

I think the flame job is pretty damn good! Tempting but my long term plans might be compromised....... wink Then again, a new look might be something to consider...?? What do I gain? A set back pump mounting, a ride plate, new colors... I'd better be careful or I'll talk myself into it.
I think the thing that kills it though is the cost of getting it out here.

burbanite
02-27-2003, 11:26 AM
Actually, the thing that really kills it is the fact that it was just sold for $2800.....

The good thing is that once again temptation has been removed from under my nose.... :)
You don't know how close I came recently to owning one of those things you and I have talked about. The fact that I have grown to like being able to reverse around the marina finally kept me in check and focussed on the long term goal wink

focussed on the long term goal wink So let's hear about this goal of yours superdave, it is fitting that you should ask that question as it would not be too far from what you are doing although I am going to use a drive system more like this:
http://www.***boat.net/image_center/data/500/61hallet_vector.jpg
I like what I have now as it mostly suits the places I go but I want to venture furthur afield and would like to take in some of the bigger lakes, I definitely need better rough water capabilities in that case.
My last boat was used for ski-racing, whip out the back seat, turn the passengers seat around and go.

I love the Schiadas, Halletts and Raysoncraft and twin turbos have always been a favorite of mine ever since I experienced them in marathon jet boats years ago.
