A semidetuned 82 :D .
Pump gas engine, single carb, DNE cam, Light MPD boat and jet. Spinning a B @ 53-54K. Should go faster when I take out the mufflers, stop the water to the headers and put a little more timing into it. :D

Estimates at same temp, elev. and water conditions...

1pax w/Nos: 93+ mph
What a difference weight, elevation and air temp. make aye? But y sweat the small stuff...

Intimidator, don't trust gps? Results may vary. Good lock with satellites a must. Anomalys and all. I wondered also...
But my Etrex GPS typically locks on at 15-17 ft. clear sky position accuracy both in LV and at the Temple (about 46 statute miles East as the crow.) Then reads about 1.3 below VDO pitot speedo. How strange is that? Ya, I'm a numbers guy. Accurate location measurement being key to speed. Don't know how or if overcast affects. Update every 0.5 seconds if I remember right. Not bad huh? So your zero reading AT 80+ weird to me.
Also my gps pretty d*mn close to my Vette digital speedo on hwy 95 btw up to about a hundred. Rivaling radar?
And those "claimed 86 mph boats"...don't believe until you verify. Claims of "86 mph" are no gage of accurate measurement. And "outrunning a claimed 86 mph boat" certainly no proof of true speed. Not that I'm saying your ride's slow. But dock talk being what it is and all...
Just some thoughts.

My boat has been radared at 87 + with 2 passengers and 88 + with GPS and just me so I think the GPS is accurate. There is however a lag with a GPS, when you hit top speed you need to stay there a couple of seconds until the GPS catches up. My speedo actually registers less than the GPS...definitely not something that a new boat dealer installed, thats for sure.

My friend had a 2001 21LX Ultra with the 390hp 454 with a place diverter and it ran 57mph (gps) at about sea level with a light load. The place diverter added about 3 mph . He originally bought the boat new without one and after a couple of months had one installed.

Believe it or not....I have a 19' v-bottom sprint hull( reworked hull bottom by me) that had a BBC 454 with NOS.. boat runs on adverage 105 to 110 on the bottle, and mid 90s motor only.New motor is a 496 stroker, full roller valve train, Dart alu. heads that should run 115 if i feel safe at that MPH.. Boat very well known at Camp far West...Its not that hard if you have the right hull to start reworking with.... And some $$$$$$..LOL

Do that 1st, then I'll take it from there.

It would be interesting to go side by side and see what the speedos say. Maybe I just need to borrow a GPS and have my questions answered.I have GPS'd my buddies 390HP 21 XS with no bimini, with diverter, and a full fuel load. 59 all day with driver only, kissing sixty. i have a 1978 avenger,468chev,small cam, single 850 holly dubble pumper, two seats,11 gal. cell fuel tank, stock berkley pump.and 150 hp nos shot, the boat ran 11.417et in waco in 1999 w/a75 nos shot.to much, over powered the boat.put back the 150 shot and ran 90 mph in ft. worth the next week-end.boat will run a consistent 11.7 et and 82 to 86 mph in the 1/4.boat runs 13.3 at 74mph without the nos.currently,it is the fastest avenger in the 1/4 in the U.S.boat is for sale.ran with sdba from 96 to 98,ihba from 98 to 2000,then back to sdba from 2001 till ?.this boat has smoked alot of v-drives w/tunnel rams and out boards.2001 high points champion w/sdba and runner up on a national level in my class ( 12.sec )w/ndba also runner up in csdba.2002 runner up w/ sdba, will run on high octane pump gas,but does better on c-12.boat name is foolish pleasure and the boat number is 114,blue metal flake, tandum trailer w/new tires.need to sell because i built a new boat over the last year and want to run in the 10's or 9's,i won just about everything there is to win in my class,it was eather quit or go faster, well 15,000 later, anyway this boat will be good for some one just starting out,the boat is dependable and low maint.

Ok, Ok....Unknown on the Speed but my Syndicate Jet tore up my Biesemeyer SS boat this past summer in the 1/4 at CFW. Of course, a Biesemeyer flatbottom with a 439ci SS engine putting out 600hp was not quite a match for a Syndicate Gull Wing with a 476ci putting out 800hp. Jet beat the flat by 1 1/2 boat lengths. Got a 77 Eliminator 19'Pickle Fork that went 98 at Blue Water in 1977 with a basic LS7 .030 over, stock iron heads, crane CC300 solid lifter cam, pistons cut down to 10.5 CR, with a single 1050 dominator running in modified jet class. About a month later we ran it with a 454 long block 480 CI,roller cam,AFR alum. heads, with the same 1050 carb and went 104 in comp jet at Blue water. Been sittin in my garage for over 20 years. After hooking up to this site, its coming out. It sounds like to much fun. I just went thru my 74 LS7. Now its .060 over. So if age, including mine, does'nt slow it down to much it should still be in the 90's.
PS... I left out the most important part of why this boat was so fast right out of the box. I have to give that credit to Greg S. He put the hardware, pump and intake package together for me and installed it while he was still at Eliminator, before he opened GS Marine. Then he helped me with the set up and fine tuning on the pump,Nozzles, and ride plate at the races.I have to thank Greg for that.It did 98 in a 1/4 mile with a 600 HP 454. So if your looking to make your jet faster you may want to look up Greg at GS Marine in Corona. Thanks again Greg.
