I want to build a nice hot rod 20ft jet for my old man and I was wondering what to get. He likes 20-22ft cats, and little flat bottoms around 18-19 ft. I kinda think he would be more comfortable in 20ft of boat though. Can anyone recommend a hull that size that's fairly easy to find in a jet and can atleast keep up with the smaller boats. Also setups like a good pump for that size boat. Thanks

I would check out one of those 20ft placecraft deck boats. there was a artical recentaly in hot boat and i think that boat did 100mph with a mild blower motor on pump gas. :D the artical is in oct 2002

Look at the Eagle 19' Sport and the Eagle 21' tunnel hull. They are fast, unbreakable and no one else is going to have one at the ramp. Aluminum boats are fun because when you hit something, all you need is a sledge hammer to fix it. Anytime you find four inches of water you can go boating. Go to www.harbercrafteagle.com/EagleRacing/ (http://www.harbercrafteagle.com/EagleRacing/) Moderate horsepower will get you easily into the 80-90MPH range-Aluminum Squirt

Hallett19:
CP mod V hull The CP tunnel hulls should be setup for race only applications. If you were going to setup a lake boat I would probably opt for a gullwing as it has better manners when coming out of the gas at higher speeds with more agressive shoe settings.
Talk to John with JM marine as he has a nice cat in the 20-21' range that can be setup as a deckboat or a traditional hard deck. These hulls with around 650-700hp should be running 80+ with proper setup.
Good luck,
Chris

a daytona hull either 19or 21.I'd lean more towards the 21 myself.

How about an SST or a 21 Liberator? You've seen my Sleek.
Here's the Liberator, both are an easy conversion to a jet. :)

I've also got a killer little 18ft tunnel that only weighs 375lbs, nice polished rail kit, would make a very fast hot rod! Now it just a matter of being serious! :)

That Place deckboat was awesome indeed, but the engine blew up shortly before the guy traded it in to Ultra. If you saw the orange and marune 22 Stealth at the boat show in Ultra's booth, the one with the outlandish gel work and custom interior, the engine in that is the one out of that deckboat and by looking at the size of the blower pulley it doesn't look to be a low boost thing. It put out like 1128hp on the dyno but apparently reliablity was an issue...Just my 2 pennies....

I'd love to do an SST but I can't find one. I may also search for a baker. It's the same basic boat with a different deck and it's a little lighter. And liberator or daytona same thing once again so yeah. If anyone can find me a Sleekcraft SST or a Baker tunnel please tell me.
