I am going to install my camshaft and need to know what assembly lube everyone suggested before, I looked in the earlier threads and can not find it. It is from the GM dealer I do remember that. Also I assume that you can use this stuff to assemble the whole engine with, is this correct?

It is not from GM but I used Isky Rev Lube and you can use it to assemble everything. Worked really well as far as I can tell.

STP oil treatment (the really thick shit) works really well and doesn't drain away. That's what I always use.

Any lube with Molybdenum is recommended because it will stick to the parts before you get oil pressure through the whole engine.Just make sure you change the oil soon after this to flush out all the Moly.

I use either Isky Rev Lube or Edelbrock's assembly lube. As High Roller said, you want to use something with Molybdenum in it.

The only place I would use anything with moly is the cam and lifters. Everywhere else you can use whatever oil your going to run, unless you're gonna leave it in storage for a while before you start it (which I doubt you will). :D
If I want a little more insurance on the rods and mains, I use Lubriplate 105. $ .02
