Just bought a new project and one of my concerns
is someone chromed the exhaust logs and risers.
the risers are fine but the manifolds look like
shit anyboby delt with this, Thanks, Rob...

take off the chrome and polish them or ceramic coat them

I always thought the chroming process was too hot for aluminum and would melt it?? Dunno...maybe I'm wrong.
Anyway, I agree. Lose whatever's on there and polish them up.

Thats what I figured too, now does anybody know a way to gat the chrome off ? Thanks, Rob...

probably just have to scrape all that stuff off ,like with a wire wheel or something, or maybe just melt it off, who knows.

Chrome is electroplated onto the target metal. The item is charged electrically and placed in a solution containing the metal you want deposited on the item. The least destructive way to remove chrome is to reverse the process or "de-plate" it. Any chrome shop can do this, they do it on any auto parts (like bumpers) that they repair and replate.
You can grind it but you will gouge or roughen up the item.
