Has anyone ever dealt with these guys out of Van Nuys??
What should you pay for a service? Oil, tune-up, out drive, etc
thanks

Eric over at Maverick has worked on my boat a couple of times. He does excellent work and has the work done when he says it will be done. However, he does tend to be a little on the pricey side. As I have seen many times on this web site "BOAT=Bring on another thousand" :D

They do very nice work. Every time I drop by they've got some real nice rigs in there. I've only heard and had good experiences with Maverick.
I'd take my boat there if I lived in the valley.

I've had my boat there. That shop is TOP notch. They do everything right and on time. If fact they do much more during their service than most other shops. It helps he is a platnum rated merc repair facility.
I had my 496HO there for its 100 hour service and a tech article was featured in Family & Performance Boating a few months back. Its in my opinion the best boating tech related mag out there. No BS just the facts....

Eric @ Maveric Marine is great. I have gone to him for years with my currnet and last boat. He does what he says he's going to do plus extras. He is pricey, but in my opinion you get what you pay for. He also stores and keeps your boat indoors, a real plus if you ask me. Dont be surprised if after you get your bill its a little higher then expected, its just part of doing business at a place that wont even reuse an old bolt. You get what you pay for excellent service, and no short cuts.

My brother is at Maverick Marine right now picking up our 26' Commander Cat. My bro dropped it off this morning around 9 am. Eric is still at working finishing it up an hour after the shoped closed so my bro can take it home today the same day. They had to replace the drive cable, drive linkages, and take apart the drive to inspect it. He seems like a cool guy and i've heard nothing but great things. My bro drove it 72 miles to Van Nuys when our mechanic that we usually go to is less than two miles down the road from were it is stored.

Wedge,
Thanks for the compliment on the boat. I'm glad you got in sooner than later. Definately bad 4 somebody else. We pay $375-400 for services at a local shop in riverside, but I don't think they are as thorough as Eric is. Can't complain when the boat doesn't have to stay in the shop a few days.
