i'll keep everyone updated on the status.

Those are cool valve covers. Nice job. Just 2 questions. Don't you guys down south have problems with running open headers in your lakes and rivers? And after a day of boat, aren't your ears a tad foocked up? We run a muffler for normal boating and switch to headers for racing. Even with helmets and the plug type intercoms, my ears ring for hours after the engine is shut down.

Nice!
Did you guys dyno the motor? Also, if that's just the tester carb, what carb are you going to put on it?
As for passing the test, you need to tell us after you take it out for the first time.
Oh, did you guys break in the cam?

Eric what do you think another couple weeks before the first run?
wink
Where are you going?
Eric455
03-19-2003, 08:02 AM
the motor, no we did not dyno. yes that carb was just a test carb to fire it up for the 1st time. we will be putting a holley 850 DP. we will break in the cam on thursday @ Bruces place. it is a solid cam, so we do not need to runn it for 30+ mins to break it in. as of friday we will be officially finished with everything besides seat mounting and final touches.
the boat will see water on sunday. and no i'm not joking. :D if all goes well the boat will be tunned on sunday ready to go. i am heading for havau on the 27th. yaaaaa babyyyy

Eric, does that have a 3 point mounting system ? Do 3pts run smoother ? I cant tell from the pic but it looks like it has rubber mounts. I wonder if someone offers rubber or fluid damped 3 or 4 point mounts??

I'm assuming those rubber mounts would make the motor feel very smooth in the boat, low to no vibration.
