Just a question.
Why in the hell does it seem like everyone drinks Coors light @ the river? Is there a reason for this?

Just a question.
Why in the hell does it seem like everyone drinks Coors light @ the river? Is there a reason for this? I've heard many "reasons" for it. Don't know how it became such a cult type thing though. Here's two good ones I know of though.
> Coors Light is made in the Colorado Rookies, from water that makes up the Colorado River. So we drink it at the Colorado River, and return it to it's source. That's my favorite one.
A side note, the Riverside Hotel & Casino in Laughlin doesn't serve any Anhiezer(sp?) Busch products because when Don first opened his little casino they wouldn't deliver "all the way out there." Coors would though. To this day he has remained faithful to them and won't sell Bud products. True Story! That's the way I heard it anyway. Perhaps it was difficult to get anything but Coors at the river at one time, and it's just stuck.
Seems to me, old school river folk are hard core Coor Light people, the "new river" crowd in Havasu seems to like Bud Light more though.

Those are some cool stories. Now that I now them I just might start drinking it. I also heard that Coors light has the lowest percentage of alcohol in it. If this is true I would think you can last longer on river without passing out. That would be a good thing.

Seriously though, I have drank many different brews over the years, Coors light is the easiest to stomach. Literally. Most heavier beers make me feel sick after a while.
The exception to this rule is any beer thats "free". Never turn down, nor show disrespect to, an offer for a beer.
That would constitute a Party Foul. :D

RTJas :D "new river"....I am not "new river" and I drink BL. The Flamingo stopped selling BL a few years back over some dispute over a showroom sponsorship but the BL is back. I have been known to avoid the places without BL. Trust me, they want me gambling in their casino...lol
