I thinking about thursday, how's that sound. It is day three of the races and the course will be set up off the beach from where the catalina ski race starts. We will have access to the yard house and rainbow harbor all day. Catalina or Newport in the morning and then the mens races in the afternoon. Who can blow off work? Im in!!!!
Jackpunx,
email me that other video that you couldnt upload if you can, I want to show it too my kid. The video and pictures where great. We got to do this again!!!!!
Tom Slick,
If I didnt know better I would have to say that you pulled a skully move in the back seat. Nothing wrong with a little siesta.
Skully,
You and pat are a bad combo. We ended up at a sushi bar with two bottles of goose, and then of to a local bar all saturday night drinking. Pat was trying to relive San Diego with the all nighter, im not sure if he made it or not.

Would someone who knows, please explain all the accessories hanging off the triple outboard? The V-drives, I/O's, multi-cav plates, split drives and twin blown small blocks (not exceeding 575 cubes) I get. Just know about those trick oil burners...

I see the Steering Bar for the triple, and then two exhaust coming out per engine, and then whale tales for each engine...also, one can of Redbull :) ...was there something else..

Awesome video...that looks like a fun run to Catalina...

River Lynchmob
10-13-2003, 05:35 PM
those are the exhaust, the plates above the props are so the props dont cavitate at the start. That is a boat from Belgium has alot of motor work done and is very fast. to bad the skier didnt keep up with the front runners, i would have liked to see how hard it could have run.

burtandnancy
10-13-2003, 05:53 PM
OK, then there are unequal exhaust runners, right?
From my limited experience with two strokes, I thot that was a no no.
Red Bull must be legal in the pits...

The races were great. The pits were filled with some very trick boats. probably the two most impressive were that sick Bernico with the triple wackers and the Goldcraft with the twin blown small blocks. Some of the best racing of the day was in the new F2 classes. Greg Foster of F1 tunnel boat racing fame drove the Terrible Hurbst F2 boat, it was fun to watch the lines he drove and he was noticably faster and smoother in the turns.
Thinking about going out again next saturday for the last race. Anybody else going to be there?

mbrown2
10-13-2003, 08:17 PM
So what Boat was Foster in? Was it the red F2 Hallet with the Cyclone Bottom (all red)?
Seems like the Terrible folks like those Hallets...at least up at the Lake/River..

This boat here is very trick and work is in progress on a new one. I observed in this boat some the year before last. If you see him toodling around up by the delta, unless you have a kboat I'd advise not racing him. Boat has clocked low 140's on gps. It's for real and leaves like a drag boat. Owned by a friend of mine and ex ski race champ himself, Mike Avila.

Mike, are you observing for anyone during the worlds? Want to predict the winning country, open men, women and jr?

mbrown2

Mike,
How does that boat handle at 120+....I gotta imagine its a handful...that is a trick boat...

Rexone
10-13-2003, 10:20 PM
Mike says the boat handles great at 120ish. Gets a bit touchy about 142 :) I never drove it nor went that fast in it though riding backwards. Bout threw me outta the seat though a couple times he hammered it from about 40. It's a rocket for sure but really handles well.
Burt I haven't been following things too close but my guess is Martie is the US's best chance and I'd like to see him win one although Robertson would be my guess to win the mens individual overall title. It's really too close to call at this level though because any little mishap can turn the tide of things. And any of those guys and girls could win on a given day. Their abilities are very very close. It is not like our marathon races where the skill level is a pretty wide range in the top 8-10 finishers.
I think the US has a good chance for a team points win just because of diversity and depth. How's that for vagueness? :D

Greg Foster is driving the Red Hallett F2 with Terrible Herbst written on it, # 53
with predictions i'll go out on a limb:
Mens: Steven Robertson Aus, only other with a chance is Marty and I think Steven is too strong right now.
Womens: Ann Procter Aus put the wood to everyone and with Erin Saunders with hurt ribs i think its clear sailing for Ann to win # 2.
F2 Mens: One of two Dimitri Bertels Bel or Matthew Campbell Aus since I am picking i'll say Bertels
F2 Women: Janine Doherty US she skied great and had no real competition.
Jr. Boys: Chris Stout Aus he's following in his dads footsteps fast fast fast and consistant.
Jr. Girls: Katelin Wendt US Skied very well just edging out Tara Williams Aus. This will be very good close racing. I'm going to say Katelin Wendt
I'm going to pick the US to win the team championship

the plates above the props are so the props dont cavitate at the start Actually I think those extended plates are there to keep the roost down. The motors are set with such a high x-dimension that they put out a high roost which makes it difficult for the skier to see.

If you go to the river almost every weekend during the summer that brings your daily post numbers up to approx 18.5374 post per day. Your still a stud in my book!!!! I have been on this thread for only a short time, but I check it every day about 5 times a day, and I never noticed your total posts until today, it blew me away. You are king post man.
