their is a station right when you get off the highway, howver the gas is at lest a $1 more than normal. Your best bet is to gas up @ chiraco summit.

desert center has nice bathrooms WTF!!! Those are bar none the friggin nastiest bathrooms I have ever seen in my entire life. I had to piss like a Clydesdale last time we went through there. I walked in the men's room and nearly puked from the odor. When I got to the terlet to offload, I opted to hold it for a cactus. I am 100% positive that there is some type of bacteria in those nasty crappers that can swim up stream while you're pissin and give you an infection that'll scare the shit outta any antibiotics known to man.

Yes, indeed, stop and relieve yourself at Desert Center.
Particularly great for the lady, and the kids really appreciate the fresh scent as well...
ROTFLMAO!!

Hmmm, about those Desert Center restrooms. To we locals, that place is just the place where you don't get gas or take a piss on the way to the river. :) Imagine what poor travelers think, who pull into that place off of I-10. I mean sheesh, I-10 is a MAJOR cross-country thoroughfare for our fine country, running from Santa Monica all the way to Jacksonville, FL. It's kind of embarrassing to think of tourists from Germany, or Japan, or any other civilized country pulling into that Hell-hole. I think the owners of that gas station should be ashamed of themselves. Selling gas for $3 a gallon and they make practically NO effort to bring their bathrooms up to at least the level you might find in a Third World Country? It makes America look bad, if you ask me (but of course, it's their right.)
Happy boating,
CS

ROTFLMAO!! If you did not need to throw up before you got there, you will want to throw up in the restroom...they should get rid of the men and women signs and just hang up some bio hazard signs...
We stop at Magoos if we need to use the restroom, clean place, nice people and old school pics of the desert when the Armed Forces setup shop and started training for desert war fare in WWII.

Or better yet get a truck that can make the round trip on one tank. I always fill up at Terrible's in Havasu. :D :D

The last time I went through Desert Center I saw Stevo from Jack-Ass blowing chunks out side the door to the restrooms there.
Now you KNOW that's nasty. eek!
As far as gas, take the 10 all the way into AZ and get off at exit 1. The Flying J has gas that will always be at least 10 cents cheaper than what you can find anywhere in Ca, and a few cents lower than Havasu.
Then go through Ehrenberg and the Res into Parker. Much safer, and not that much longer.

Thats even more funny! I personally go across the highway to the snack bar(?) and use the little one around the back of the building...

Stick with the 29 Palms route less traffic, more gas stations, and always cheaper than gas on highway 10

We fuel up at the last Loves/ARCO just past Palm Springs and that'll hold us to the river.
McGoos is the place to stop on Rice Road ,, but check the freshness dates on any item you may decided to buy there.

The Flying J or Loves are a lot cheaper, have cleaner restrooms, and good fast food to shut all the passengers up!

It's not a trip to the river unless you force the "newbie" into the "Nasty" bathroom at Desert Center. devil
