The boat will be ready in 6 weeks and paper work was done today. I will be having the 496 Mag. in the boat. I want the boat to be broken in before my first trip of the year in Havasu for my Birthday and Spring Break on the weekend of 3-28-03. Any recommendations from anyone on the quickest and safest way to do so? Any detailed information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Just go out and run it slow and look for things that could have been lift loose. Fittings, lines and just over all inpect the boat. Do not run the boat to hard the first five hours. I like to change the oil then and start fresh.

It's an Eliminator, bring a screw driver, cell phone and a pliers at the very least. I have taken delivery of three new eliminators over the past 10 years, they always left something loose.... nothing major, but always something. The last boat, I should have left a rolling tool chest on the dock, but that's a different story. Good luck, nothing like a new boat!

It's funny that you mention that. We signed the paperwork on Tuesday and we were what ever about the process, because my wife and I don't get to excited about things until we have it in hand, but on Sat. we turned the switch on and we are beggining to get the butterflies and excitement of the new boat. Once the mold is done then it will seem a bit more real. I also tried to get bigger engine, rather than the 496 mag, I tried for the HO, but looks like in about 3 years we are going to upgrade to the fundeck model and we'll save our big engine dreams for that boat. I am hoping to get close to 70 with the stock 496 mag. I assume you are going with Eliminator? Who are you working with, I had Dan Alberts as my sales guy, great guy by the way. Good luck with your boat.
