Is this an air commander ? I think I've seen one at the Abbotsford airshow to
demonstrate its extreme capabilities .

I might be mistaken, but that airplane is green and white... :D
The video is old, probably from the late 60's since the Commander he's flying isn't a Shrike.
I got to see him in Reno right before his run in with the FAA. The green and white (Evergreen) bird is hanging in the Smithsonian.

When I saw him, years ago, both the Shrike ...and his P-51 were both yellow/orange...

Yep... but he couldn't get insurance anymore and had to quit performing :( ...
Where the FAA couldn't, the bean counters succeeded. :yuk:

I like the part where he says he doesn't have any special skills that everybody doesn't have. LOL He's among the best of the best...ever! Pisses me off that they won't let him perform anymore just because of his age, even though he passed every medical they could throw at him.
Cool video. :)

Bob was Chuck Yeagers back up pilot for the flight tests where he broke the sound barrier. He is one of the best ever to fly an airplane. Damm FAA punks that pulled his ticket were just jealous. I've seen him a few times and got his autograph. Great guy!

Seen him at the Redlands Air Show maybe 8 years ago. Loved how he would glide down and land and jump out of the plane in front of the stands before the plane stopped.
