If you don't mind getting ripped off, try AAA Rv rental at 928-667-1674. At least you can have AC.

I reserved and paid for a 32' motorhome, sleeps 7, with a pop out room. You saw what we got. It wouldn't hold 7 midgets. When they called me a few weekes prior to OP6, they said the RV I had reserved was involved in an accident and totalled out. They said they would put me in a similar replacement. So, i figured no worries, you can't help that. As long as they either put me in something similar or give me a break on the cost. They didn't do either. When I complained, they said they wouldn't give me a break on the cost, but would give me 50 bucks off my next rental. But I would have to reserve it right away or they would forget and I would just have to eat it.
F that!
The things I did appreciate was that they park it out for you and hook it all up. That was nice. And they were nice to be honest. That was cool.
No worries bud. But I'll get drunk with you anyway. http://free.***boat.net/ubb/smile.gif

WTF? They would forget? They can't give you a credit invoice for future use even within a years time? To be honest, I didn't mind the sleeping accomodations......at 6A.M. I don't think it would matter to anyone.

I have camped every time I went to Parker right up to this last year when I met RD. Camping is no big deal. Get a good tent with lots of screen on it, try to get a spot on the water, and enjoy the outdoors.
A/C is for femmes.
My favorite spots are La Paz, Castle Rock Shores (except the bathrooms suck), Buckskin, and Fox's, but I guess that Fox's does not allow tent camping any more.
LA Paz is a no-brainer.

I give tent camping the finger!!! Staying in a sweet RV, or a resort is the only way to go. After 15 years of MX, my back cant take the abuse of a cheap ass mattress. When we were at Black Meadow last month, people were tent camping (including a pair of lesbos), and it was like 100+ at night. And they had no A/C!!! F that. -DD Out

We just camped at Martinez two weeks ago and it was awesome. Of course, you are up early with the sun, but that is when the good water hits.
Jerry slept out this weekend too. Nice under the stars. Plus, a quick naked dip in the river with the girly doesn't suck.

I have to give BB some credit. I was out there that night in my tent and I packed that shit up quick and got the f@*ck out!
Had a good time though. Bill and Sannie are top notch. Sorry I missed you guys at OP6.

As long as you don't mind getting up early with the sun it's al good. But the bugs really suck in the morning. I like camping but actually prefer to do it in the spring or fall or winter. But to each his own http://free.***boat.net/ubb/smile.gif

I have to speek up on this camping thing. It sucks ass! I love the river, love the heat, love the beer,...Hate to sleep outside. I get a kick out of watching people trying to fry up some eggs in the morning on their Habachi, sweating. While I'm wearing socks cause my feet are cold, eating oatmeal, whatching Sportscenter on DirecTV.
Camping is GAY!

Going to the river with TV is gay.
Last time I camped at Parker was Memorial Day, and we threw the queen sized air mattress out, put a blanket on top of it, threw on some "Off" and shortened the EZ-UP so it was only 3' off the ground. Crashed in style. Woke up at 6:00 and went for speed runs.
You definitely have serious chub-choking tendencies if any of the following are in your river trip...
1) TV. Period. The people Memorial day running around in their van screaming that the "Lakers won!" while I sipped on my beer and watched the sun set I felt pity for.
2) Hair gel, hair dryer, or makeup. Buy a hat.
3)Any shirt with buttons. This seems to be going by the wayside, but who knows.
4) Any footwear with laces.
5) More than one personal bag.

Nothing beats getting the Tyson fights, NBA playoffs, Ultimate Fighting Championship, Raiders pre-season,etc and being at the river at the same time.
I can watch the sun go down anytime. Yawn.

Years ago ,there were 8 of us, camping out at Canyon Lake, got there too late to drive to Tin Can Beach, so we kept everyone up all night with 4 guitars and 8 voices....darn good too. One couple placed a double sleeping bag on top an old mattress and were bragging how comfortable they would be ontop the rocks. Well everyone was finally settling in, camp fire going down, and all of a sudden we heard "Oh my....oh god...what in the hell........(it got kinda quiet...) ....son of a bitch...get that damn dog of yours out of here!" ..."Oh this is gawd awfull....." What happened?" "Oh that damn dog had diarreha on top of our sleeping bags...and I guess I tossed the pillows down on top of it....we got crap in our hair, face, it's everywhere"....About that time the aroma was hitting us all! Canyon Lake water in April can be pretty cold at 2Am trying to get clean! As bad as it was we laughed til 3!

BB and Sandie were camped next to us at OP6CIII and it looked like the friggin' Hilton when they got set up! I kept wonderin' why the heck would they want to go home with a camp like they had! BB also has an excellent taste in sounds! If it ain't heavy, it ain't s**t! OZZY! Speakin' of La Paz, I was absolutely impressed with their site! it's sure not the Ah Villa I remembered! Good campsites, replete with cabanas, clean restrooms, and showers, and friendly people! Only problem I saw was that I think they designed the bathrooms for the NBA! I had to take my tinkles in stages! The damn urinals were mounted chest high! Took me at least 5 jumps to get complete relief each time! http://free.***boat.net/ubb/smile.gif

I just discribed how I like to spend my time watching total carnage while you like to watch the sunsets, sing songs and wear sandals.
If that isn't GAY then it's sure close to Bi-curious.

To be honest, I'd rather hear good live tunes during a float out of a guitar than bass pumping out of speakers......But you've got to have the right group that digs it. Thumbs up!

its at black meadow landing. 36' tahoe. brand new. I bought it about two months ago and used it three times. it has the bunks in back, and the queen in the front with a big slide out. Retails for 25K. I will sell it for 18500
check out the virtual tour. it is exactly the same except it only has 2 bunks in the back, and a table that turns into a small bed.

Chesta,
I saw those lame asses "dynmite hack" a couple years ago, they sucked baaaad. Sounded like crap and the cover was the only good song. But on to more important stuff; forget stairway, it's all about bustin out the entire GN'R "Lies" album with a couple of buds on beat down six strings.

Acoustic guitar is what camping is all about.
Gay or not... nothing drops panties like a little rendition of "More than words". http://free.***boat.net/ubb/wink.gif
Tough to dance to acoustic guitar with chemlights though...

Froggy, did you pull your boat out at night when you were camping at martinez? Was there a place to beach it? It's been a long time since I've been there. How long in advance did you have to make reservations?

Ok I've been keeping my mouth shut, but...
ChemLights (glowsticks) = Gay.
Providing the guy on the acoustic guitar has any kinda talent it can work out to be pretty cool.
