To all that are going, Nautical is out of rooms, but there are plenty of rooms on the strip of hotels, i.e.Holiday Inn.

Glad to see you on board there Robbie Racer.
Be sure to arrive early, about Thursday or so. There is a lunch run on Friday to the bottom of the lake that is a blast. Wednesday/Thursday if you want to get a weekend slip at the marina.
Feel free to call me with any questions you might have regarding the event. In fact since this is your first boating poker run, privately email me with your address and IÂ’ll send you a promo CD so you know what to expect.
What type of horsepower you pulling in that Carrera 257?

Hey C2,
What's your policy on rain? Given the amount we've had (and needed) lately I was curious what would happen to your registration money if it rained all day Sat & Sun? I know the weather has been on your side all but the first run and that wasn't too bad!

RR when are you going down, I'll will be in town on Tuesday night. I am going to the BBSP in Speed Alley Thursday- Sunday. We will be staying at the Nautical Inn. Seven boats in our group, look for my 25 Daytona with twin 300 Mercs.

C-2 and Boatmaster, sorry for the delay in the response. I lost track of this thread. C-2, that would be great if you could send me a promo CD so I can get an idea of what it's all about. Check your PM's for mailing and email address info. My motor made 1180 hp when we had it on the dyno last week.
Boatmaster, we won't be leaving until Thursday early and plan to drive straight through and check in that night. I will look for you on Friday. R/R

C-2, if i was attending the Arizona Hot Boat Association-American Hot Boat association- Extreme Boating Association Mardi Gra lunch run on Friday at noon, I don't think I would like to go to the "bottom of the lake". Could I just stay on the top and watch you guys come back up for air? wink wink wink

Question for the poker run, Can we tag along even though we are not entered into the event or is this some sort of run only for the poker run entries? We are from Nor Cal and are going for the BBSP but if possible would like to cruise with the others possibly.

Sure you can still go to watch. I'm going as a spectator since my 3 month old nephew will be with us. We'll just pick a good spot off to the side in the lake and watch the big cats fly by.

C-2, Robbie Racer and I do have similar boats...but different. They did come from the same mold. And...mine is for sale and his isn't! Robbie Racer and I used to run drag boats together...at different times. How is the family?

brrrrrrrrrrr...
I think that was in fact the first poker run in 1999. Cold as hell and rain drops the size of golf balls (alright, maybe not but that's how they felt on my face!).
Usually I never worry about rain at Havasu...but this year has been kind of funky. eek! eek! eek!

Kinda figured you might recognize him. What's with all the drag guys and 25'7 Effects?

...but if possible would like to cruise with the others possibly. There's no cruisin'...better get rid of the throttle and replace it with a switch.
Here's (http://free.***boat.net/gallery/Hot_Boat_Happenings/Poker_Runs/pokerrun.mpg) my video from last fall.
Actually, if you're not participating, Copper Canyon makes a great viewing area...nothing like seeing the big boys go by at 160MPH...

C-2, it says that "North lake station opens for second card. North lake photo station open for helicopter photos". Can you advise where the North Lake station is? I only have a poor online map of the lake and I can't find a North Lake station on it.
Thanks, R/R

For the last 4 heat waves, it has been almost to the mouth of the river. about a mile or so south. A bit closer to Havasu landing than the AZ side. If you head over there anytime b4 lunch you will see the line of boats waiting to take off & the chopper doing runs from N to S. Chopper only goes like 45 mph, so most have to wait for it and not go too fast, so your pic turns out. Can't miss it.

So Robbie, listen to No Regrets and wait for the helicopter! Don't hammer the Carrera until AFTER the helicopter turns away!!!

Okay, got it. Thank you No Regrets
Bill, that explains why you looked so relaxed in the one picture that C-2 posted that was taken from the helo. I was thinking, boy Bill sure looks relaxed going 110+ in his Carrera. :D

You'll get a good map of the lake with all the card stops identified. We also have a large map in the registration area.
Nothing to worry about, we give you everything you need. Just show up and have a great time!
BTW
Keep your eyes open when towing, I know there are several people coming down from Washington, I have some friends leaving from Modesto right about now.
See ya tomorrow, :D :D :D
HOT BOATS RULE!!!!!!

C-2, you might want to look at my post regarding launching. I noticed nobody on the EBA site seems to be adressing the issue. I have already been talking to people on the phone with larger boats that are talking about canceling. They don't want to make the drive / tow for nothing.

Maybe EBA should rent a crane for the event?
I remember when they did the Hydroplanes a couple of years back, they used cranes, and they use them in Offshore events back east.
