Where are the best places for this stuff in Laughlin?
I'm leaning towards staying at the Edgewater...
Any recent good/bad experiences?
Thanks

Do a search for some recent posts. I gave my review not too long ago, as did others. Hotel by hotel. Check it out. I would post a link to some of those, but I don't know how.

I would probably reconsider the Edgewater stay. Not the nicest joint on the river..At the river palms they have a pretty secure lot just for boats (a little extra $)so you can have a little peace of mind.Check the specials..You dont have to stay where you stay :p If that made any sense...

flamingo is just okay for boat saftey. When it gets crowded they will have you park across the street an thats when it gets shakey, Yeah they have a guy ride around on a bike and watch stuff, big deal. I have had a jet ski stolen from harrahs that place blows, i think river palms has the best security for boats, you have have to pay to get your boat in the special lot but its worth it. too many boats are being stolen these days.Pay the 10 bucks for a boat to use in the morning.
As far as casinos i like the flamingo the best.Ive been to them all and i like that hotel and casino the best. Even though i lose everytime. :D
If your looking for a good get away stay at the avi hotel and casino which is about 20 or so miles down river from the main strip. That part of the river is awesome!! Its the real river, up by the casinos (main strip) is a nightmare. All dorks on rental jet skiis. Hope this helps.

Cool, appreciate all the input. I plan to boat on Mohave, so the Avi is out. Too far of a drive. I have stayed there before and it is cool.
Looking for something in that class at Laughlin.
I have only stayed at the Colorado Belle before, it was fine, but I am looking for a little nicer place with secure boat parking and a nice atmosphere to drink and gamble in after a day on the water. The Belle was really smoky and took a long time to get seated in the brewpub to eat. I figure someone on here knows the inside scoop and can enlighten me.
Thanks

We go to the Belle often. They let you park your boat trailer in the employee parking lot. They have a 24hr guard there, I've never had a problem. The Edgewater and the Belle have the same owners and share the employee parking lot. Just catch the shuttle. The Brew Pub gets crowded early. My favorite place after a day on the water is the Mississippi lounge. Bucket of shrimp and blue margaritas. :D

CA Stu Edgewater is the shiznit! Awesome boat parking in the employee parking lot up the street with full security and the shuttle that takes you back and forth (if you can't park in the hotel lot which is nice too!) The steakhouse is the best I have eaten at in Laughlin, Havasu, etc..very important to get a great meal. The gambling is ok. Make sure you get a NON smoking room and a river view if possible, you won't be disappointed! :D

ive tried a few differant places this season and i allways compare them to the edgewater. i like the hotel, and the parking area is patrolled pretty well. if the lot gets full they allow you to park up the street at the employee parking lot which is secured and patrolled aswell. the last place i stayed was river palms and was very nice aswell, but didnt like to have to pay another $10 for boat parking. though it did seem pretty safe. the rooms at the edgwater have been redone and i would say river palms and edgewater are both worth staying at. boat parking at the flamingo sucked. small lot with even smaller spots. the duelly and 18' jet barely fit.

We just made two recent trips to Laughlin and made the mistake of staying at the Flamingo not once, but twice. The first trip was the weekend before Labor Day weekend and the boat parking was a creative free-for-all in the overflow area. Double parking, jack knifed trailers, etc. just for all of us to squeeze in. The primary boat/RV area's stalls are short and very narrow.
We decided to chance it again last weekend with the thought that the crowds would be less - WRONG! Once again, we were forced to employ creative parking strategies.
Never saw a single security guard on a bike as they claimed would be on patrol. Fortunately, the rig survived w/o any dings or damage, but this will be our last time at the Flamingo.
P.S. Unless you have a jet, I'd consider removing your prop for the night too.

As far as boat parking goes, the Flamingo and Harrahs sucks. For drinking you can go to the Looser's Lounge at the Riverside, but sometimes its so crowded its like a sweat box in there. The best thing to do is load your pockets full beers and ride the river taxi. It only costs a couple of bucks and sometimes that thing can turn into a pretty good party. My freinds and I have ridden that taxi for hours at a time. Every stop they make, new people come aboard so you never party with the same people for too long. One time we got really lucky and the driver hit a rock bar so we ended up just floating down river party'in.

I have found that the Ramada Express is the best for parking/security/dining/gambling/rooms. Now, I just prefer the comfort of my own home across the river in Bullhead City.

If you choose to stay at the Flamingo, ask for the casino host when you call to book your room. Tell them you plan to play their tables and ask them if they can help make arrangements for your stay. Last trip 5 rooms were comp'd for our group for the entire week we stayed! Now thats not a huge savings seeing as how the rooms are $20 or so a night but we figured this gave us each an extra couple of hundred bucks to play at the tables. If you have trouble finding parking for your boat, a few bucks to a valet will get your boat parked along the south end of the building near the river entrance to the hotel :D

Ramada I also agree with Nova Guy and Kilrtoy. We always used to stay at Harrahs, but it got to expensive to sleep for a couple of hours. Harrahs rocks, but the parking blows. We actually got turned on to the Ramada after getting kicked out of Harrahs (dont ask). Since then, we have always stayed at the Ramada. Great boat parking, Gambling and food are pretty good. But more importantly, its in the middle of everything, so you can walk just about anywere. A couple of weeks ago we stayed at the River Palms, it was a big disapointment...

Almost forgot, anywhere you stay in Laughlin, get to the Boiler Room (Brewery Restaraunt) at the Colorado Belle for diner! Steak Sandwiches and Beer Cheese soup - need I say more?

The edgewater has an awesome breakfast buffet. They have the made to order omelets, all the regular stuff, plus mexican breakfast stuff (machaca, chorizo & eggs, tortillas, etc). We prefer the Riverside for gambling but forget trying the new Mexican joint upstairs in the old parking structure! The decor is nice, but the service sucked and it was so loud in there we couldn't even talk. For Mexican food take the river cab across the river to the hotel (I'm not sure the name, but the cab drivers know the place). There's never anyone in there and the food is fantastic.
Boy, I guess you can all tell I like Mexican food!!

For the best Mexican food, go to El Palacio in Bullhead City. From Laughlin, go across the bridge, turn right onto HWy 95 about 5 miles or so and on your right hand side. Worth the trip.

Yep, El Palacio is the best Mexican place in BC. Good eats and drinks, good service, great price...

I've seen that place, but never been in there. We'll have to try it. El Palacio and Casa Serrano (both the one in the Riverside parking garage and the one in Az. down Hwy 95 in Mohave Valley) are owned by the same people. Soooooo, if you didn't like the food at one, you probably won't like it at the other--same menu!

CA Stu Stu, go for the EDGEWATER, we won't stay anywhere else now. That employee lot is the most secure way to go, free shuttle is going 24 hrs too. The Hickory pit (steakhouse) there is the best also.
At Harrahs you have to find/ask/tip a bellboy for a shuttle to the boat lot, especially if you arrive late at night at the free RV lot. Harrahs charges for the secure lot. Harrah's beach and all their rules have made the place dead anyway.
The Riverside's boat lot is risky. Myself and others here on the boards have had stuff ripped off from
Stay away from Katheryns Landing at Mohave on Saturdays it will be jam packed.
enjoy, Mark :)

We got info off this board that helped alot.
The Edgewater turned out to be the best setup.
They have fenced 24 hr guarded boat parking and a shuttle to the hotel and back about every 10 minutes.
Works great.
The Edgewater Casino has livelier slots, and at the extreem, south end of the casino, faceing the water they have a video bar with a band. Usually a tribute band like a Fleetwood Mac, Sticky Fingers (Rolling Stones), Elvis,, a Jimmy Buffet kinda group,,, Fake but always pretty good.
Excellent food deals in their restaurant. 99 cent steak last we went that was good..
If you're RVing it and keeping your boat at the RV park, the Riverside has improved a lot and is pretty good too. I wouldnt use their boat parking,, nothing but bad tales of their boat parking.

Ditto to what these guys said about Edegwater. Can't beat the nice employee parking lot, they will let you take up as many spaces as you need. We usually park along the fence right in front of the guard shack.
The rooms at Edgewater are not bad as long as you're in the newer tower. Who really cares when you're going to be on the water all day, nice bed and shower is all I need! :D

I just returned from Laughlin, stayed at Flamingo - and later in week at Pioneer. Suggestion - upgrade your Flamingo room to the $39. version - well worth it.(weekdays)Usually we stay at the Riverside because of the easy boat parking but they had the parking lot closed off with fencing. Is that the end of the easy boat parking at Riverside? I went inside for coffee but couldn't get any answers. It was too good - too convienient - I knew it was doomed. Christ - No more free drinks in the sports books and the boat parking gets tougher and tougher. Bastards!

The RV Park is way to convienent to the newer west casino/bar that the Riverside built. It can't be that good and last for very long.
I suspect the now fenced boat parking may become another tower of rooms, I wouldn't be surprised. Then, ol Don will start chewing away at the cheap and easy RV park.
