I'm leaving for Lake mead tomorrow night...never been before. Anyone know of good hangout spots where the beer is cold and the women are not?

Meades not like Havasu, pretty big & no big party places that I know of. Go to www.lasvegas***boats.com. (http://www.lasvegas***boats.com.) It's hosted by a man who lives at Lake Meade. Pretty cool website. Lots of info on the lake.
We go every year. Usually stay at Echo Bay Resorts (not a party place, though it had a really good restaurant last time I was there last year...thye cook could cook a perfect steak...I ate it every day for a week).
Good luck, hope that website helps.

We just got back from our first trip to Mead. The facilities at Calville Bay were great. For $10 you can tie your boat up to the courtesy dock overnight. Sandy Beach is just around the corner and the narrows are right there also. We were there during the week, so not too much eye candy. The lake is huge, so gas up and go.

We were there for a week last summer. Mead is big on water but the life is in town,(LV) the resorts are not clubs or bars, just a place to tie up and buy gas & beer, and the beer is way cheeper at the 7-11 in boulder. Make sure if you pay to tie-up that they put the right date on the slip or they put a f**king chain on your boat for not paying! (still pissed about that)

Carefull, the monsoons are hitting already. We had a tremendous wind storm today in Havasu. Wind gusted at 80 mph. Weather report says monsoons in the region everyday for the next 7 days. That can really ruin a boat trip, Hopefully you don't mind spending some time in the casinos because the lakes are probably going to be blown out all week. If your on the water keep your eyes on the sky, these storms literaly can blow in in a matter of minutes. good luck

maxbowride,
whats with you? Do you expect free courtesy docking for your boat? Isn't it worth something to not have to pull your boat out every nite? And isn't your tow vehicle and trailer parked for free. You must be the kind of person who needs their ass kissed a lot...

Hey 24ROD, This is LM1 from Las Vegas Hot Boats. Don't know if you checked out the site yet, but I hope it was helpful if you did. Check out Sandy Beach and Hallet Beach - everyone in here is right, it's not the party place like Havasu, but it's a great lake nonetheless and those two beaches attract most of the crowds.
We'll be out Saturday, my boat is on the home page so if you see us flag us down to say hi.

We showed up in the morning to find a raw chain through the grab bar on the swim step and a scratch in the gelcoat from the chain

sorry maxbowride
I didn't get the full story.
I've just spent the last three week ends at Lake Mead and saw every kind of weather it has to offer but its always fun. Watch for the black mud under the nice sand at some of our more popular beaches, it really stinks! Hasn't seen the sun since '73...
