I don't mind the rain, in fact it can be rather nice at times. But the friggin' wind out here in the high desert SUCKS!! Last night it uprooted a tree on the property, blew over the dog water (5 gal bucket full), sent the dog house 35 feet across the yard (hope the dog wasn't in it at the time!) and the final straw was it blew the carport type awning over and blew the rain cover off the boat!!! I know it had to be gusting to at least 50+mph

I heard/saw the wind on the news. I feel for you. I hope everything/everyone is ok.

This is storm watch 2002. This will be the biggest storm of the century.LOL! Thats the truth!
They have been hyping this up all day, I was watching the news ths morning, (Channel 5), they had a "correspondant" on the beach with the camera on the surf, telling us how this was gonna be a "killer" storm with "10-15 foot breakers, yes, this ones gonna be big! Back to you in the studio" :D
 Gotta love the media.

"Thanks 1stepcloser, I am standing out in the freezing rain and heavy winds in Placentia. This storm is progressing to a level 4 hurricane. Everyone stay off the freeways. Now back to you in the studios".

Thaks RiverPrincess, Im standing on the windswept shores of the usually balmy Lake Powell. From the reports we are getting from the beach communities in California it looks like this is shaping up be the STORM OF THE MILLENNIUM. We are starting to feel the effects of the tropical upswing which coupled with the unstable Pacific winds alotf means the probability of substancial preciptitation is compounding exponentially. Thats all from here back to River Dave in studio B,with a closer look at the effects of RAINSTORM 2003...take it away Dave

We got alot of snow, great for skiing and will help to fill the lakes for next summer as long as it stays on the mountains until the spring thaw. Got alot of rain and 85mph winds. Busy weekend for the power company. Didn't have power Saturday night. Nothing but ice out there now. wink

Do they have the "STORM WATCH 2002" theme running again on the news in So Cal, that is soooo gay! Since I moved up North I don't get to see them act like ass clowns on the news over a little rain, they have nothing better to do. I have to admit, it was kinda funny seeing all the news fols stationed all over the So Cal area, and reporting in if water was falling from the sky.

Rain sucks!!!
Rain here in So Cal does virually nothing for our drinking water. We get our water from far to the north and Colorado River and it's lakes get's it's water from the Rockies. So other than making our lives & drives hell, rain here serves no purpose!!! wink
BTW, I'm only half serious. :D
