Aug 23-25 is coming upon us pretty fast so I figured I'd toss this out there another time or 2. I've got 1 campsite left to fill and can consolidate to get another.
If anyone is interested, the cost is $54.00 for 2 nights to join in on the fun. If you're boatless, come on up anyway, I'm sure there will be many people willing to give rides.
In the past I was advertising for people in No CA but since we have people coming from SoCal, NV, WA and OR, if you want to make the trip, come on out.
If you've wanted the chance to have your boat in Hot Boat, here it is. I've been told this get together is on the list for HB to be there.
email me at squirtboat21@juno.com if interested.

oh yeah, this get together is for all types of boats. We already have jets, I/O's, V-drives and even a PWC or 2 coming so we could use an outboard, a paddle boat or a row boat to round out the field. http://free.***boat.net/ubb/smile.gif

Cas, I talked to Don & he relayed your message to me. I will try to come on out anyway even if there is not enough space to camp. If I bring the boat I'll just sleep in the stabin-cabin.

Cool! see you there. Did you take a look at the campground picture to see where we'll be at?
It may be a bit difficult to find any of us out on the water....then again, maybe not.

Rob,
That's great! We'll have a very good showing of Tahiti's (5, I think). If I can remember correctly, we'll have 30 or so boats that will be there for the weekend and another 12 to 15 coming up for Saturday's festivities. If you can, you too Extreme, bring some munchies and hang around for the Pot Luck dinner.
Which year and model do you have?

Oh yeah. Cas is a modest man. I believe there will be many more boats and people than he thinks! Even if you are late in making your reservations, there should be other camp sites available at the park, just not in the group site. Or there are Hotels and bungalows in the area if thats what you choose. If you think you can make it or have never boated on the delta you should make the time and come join us. This should be a great weekend (or longer) ! http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

Isn't this for jets only? http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/happy/happy06.gif
...or is everyone invited this year to prevent that "prop discrimination" lawsuit?

Cas,
I'm not sure which model it. All I know is that it was built in 1978, and it's 18 feet long. I've only had the boat for about a year.

Hi Cas, Looking forward to being there! There is a possibility I may not camp out, and just drive home each night as I live only 45min away. It depends on what the little woman wants. I'll be there each day though regardless!

Since it's an 18'r, it's probably either the Tiger or Super Tiger. The Tiger is actually 17'10" and has the gas tank in the bow. The Super Tiger has 2 gas tanks on either side in the rear.
Tahiti also made a Bubble Tiger but I think it was a little longer, maybe not.
I'm on my third Tahiti now. I had 1 of each of the ones mentioned above and now have the 21' Super Cruiser.

I guess it's a super tiger then, It has two tanks in the rear! I have some pictures of my work in progress. I'm redoing the seating configuration. It had two seats facing forward and two facing backwords right on the motor. Not to safe in my opinion.

Diggler,
I know you are new to the bay area but from Oakland/Alameda area you are close to 1 1/2 hours from Tower Park depending on traffic... Just wanted to give you a heads up. I'd take that last camping spot if I where you... After a full day of boating and several beverages the last thing you'll want to do is drive home and then back again in the morning. Tower Park has great facilities and there are showers, real bathrooms, etc. for the ladies...

I was going to post that we're full but I got a cancellation last night. So who's going to get the last campsite?
going once......

Cas

Rob,
That appears to be the 18' Super Tiger, I've always liked the lines of that boat. I also like the shape of your seats, I wish I would've seen something like those before I had my interior redone last year. I'm sure my wife would have appreciated it more too.

GOT WATER ??
07-18-2002, 06:07 PM
I can't wait!
And I have never met one person that's going to be there.
My boat is still pretty rough, I might just win the dock beater prize. eek!

Cas,
I just got those seats from west marine. I'm going to get a couple more and place them sideways behind the front seats.

If you can make it for both nights, it would be great. If not, you're first on the list for Sat night only.

I'll be there Thursday night along with a couple of others. I got a call tonight from someone in Chico who heard about our little gathering through the grapevine, at a convenience store. It looks like he'll be caravaning down with 3 other people and their boats to stay in some adjacent campsites.
If you build it, they will come.....looks like we'll be having about 50 some odd boats and somewhere around 150 people....unreal!
And those are the ones I've heard about, who knows how many will actually show up?

Cas

and BTW, just because the sites I reserved are full doesn't mean Tower Park is full. If anyone has a mind to, c'mon down and join in on the fun.
Our theme for this year is American Pride so look for all the red, white and blue.
Since we all float in our "American Prides" I thought the ole R,W&B would be very fitting.

Cas, its been alot of years since I've been to Tower Park..is there a registration somewhere or do we just roll in and try and launch. More than likely we will be there for the day so is there a meeting time, boat itinerary or something so we can find everyone if they are out on the water? Its easy to get lost down there..I guess I could just shut the boat off and listen for the all the horsepower on the water....(from the jets of course) :D

I didn't really organize anything on Saturday except maybe a dinner gathering. The other thing will be if Mr. ***boat shows up, I'd kind of like to get as many boats as possible in a group picture. With 50 or so boats, that might be a logistical nightmare :D
If you go to www.laidbackboaters.com (http://www.laidbackboaters.com) then click on the Future Outings page, you will find a map of the campgrounds and where our campsites are. Since this year's theme is "American Pride", I'm pretty sure you won't be able to miss my site :)
If you're just going to be there for the day, just go to the launch ramp, pay the $9.00 and you're all set to go. I'm sure there'll be a bunch of people hanging around the dock area that will most likely greet you....might even be me :D
If you decide to spend the night, there's a lot of room at the tents only area for sure and probably a few sites not too far from the rest of us.

I just got back from a jobsite that I have at the train museum on Hwy 12 just outside Rio Vista and got caught in a speed trap just off of Hwy 80 on Hwy 12, which is on the way to Tower Park for a lot of people.
I did ask the officer if he would be there this Saturday or if he would just be harrassing local teenagers at the mall. He didn't think it was funny and didn't answer my question. Oh well!
I've gotten two speeding tickets on hwy 12 in the last six monthes. The other was inbetween Hwy 5 and Tower Park, so look out on your way to tower park!
Eric.

I got tagged for speeding out there too, a couple of years ago. Cop told me "this is the most dangerous streach of road in the state". Yeah right, just give me the ticket...
Do you think it could be a nice steady stream of revenue???

EricU
08-21-2002, 04:22 PM
Yeah the cops on that stretch are a pain.
So how's the boating in the Tower Park area? I haven't been to that part of the Delta. How are the lauch ramps? I've got a V-drive and I am the first to admit, I can't maneuver the damn thing around the docks (those are the times that I miss my jets!).
Anyway it sounds like a fun weekend.
Eric.

Do you think it could be a nice steady stream of revenue???BOTH of my sisters were almost killed in separate accidents on that stretch of road and my dad used to drive it daily. It is VERY dangerous, to say the least. frown
