Did a search. Didn't find much about Berkeley jetovators. Linkage parts are hard to find, and basically suck. :)
Here are some pictures of a modification using parts from my junk bin. AT tiller arm. Dominator O-ringed nozzle (super tight in the worn Berk cup). Trim arm cut out of one side of an AT reverse gate.
Have to come up with a 3/4 X 3/16 broach to do it right. Otherwise its a hand tool and weld job. Turning the nozzle 90 deg rather than the C or G bowl.
The linkage may look wrong for the rev gate. As it isn't referenced to the nozzle, but the steering. On second (or third) look you can see that the end of the rev arm is centered on the trim pivot and geometry is 99% correct for the reverse gate cable.
This will use standard cables 43c for trim and 43 bc for reverse.
Even the Dom rudder fits perfectly.
I'm liking it already as it has lots of UP. :)
Been thinking about this for a long time. Too much time on my hands during MN winters! And who would cut up a $200 Dom nozzle.

I love it. . I have been trying to think of a way to rig a diverter myself. I definitely want to throw the roost but I am cheap and don't want to throw down all the money for a new one. Nice work on that - please post your progress picks, including action shots when it is done.
You know, winter does terrible things to a boater's mind, even in California. . .

tnx,
I guess thats a known problem with jetovators! :( Actually though this mod will help that too. :)
By moving the trim pivot point back, the rev bucket doesn't drop as much, per degree down.

Got sidetracked. Here are "after" pictures.

Over 45 degrees travel before O-ring comes out. Few degrees more if I don't sweat blowing the o-ring.
You can just see the O-ring peaking out at 25 degrees up from horizontal bowl angle.
43C cable for trim. 43BC for reverse gate.
Had the Dominator rudder. It isn't needed for operation.

When you trim the nozzle doesn't it make the reverse bucket move? Because the reverse cable is fixed to the tiller that doesn't move up and down with the trim nozzle.

Good catch.
I thought it would too, at first.
But the center line of the cable passes right thru the trim pivot axis. It's not geometricaly correct, but works almost perfectly. :)
Trim down:

Don't think I could have designed it that way. But even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.
You are absolutly correct in that the gate cable should be referenced to the trim, not the steering. :boxed:
There is even a tapped boss on the trim piece that a bracket could be bolted to. For the stationary part of the reverse cable. But this works great.
Bottom picture shows the O-ring almost out, but this is at 26 degrees up.
