Castaic Lake Rumor [Archive]

Has anyone heard anything about Castaic closing? I heard that it's going to be a private lake? Only locals from places like Stevenson Ranch and some of the other track homes will be allowed. Anyone heard this?
I hope this is not true........

The news is that if the state does not take over the operations at the lake it will be closed to the public due to lack of funding for the lifeguards and the rangers, this is to be effective 6/30/03. so far that is all that i have heard and read. Hope that helps. Mike VG
