Pretty rare, Mirage (when they were still built in TX) did not make many of those. Hot Boat tested it 96. Here are the numbers:
Make=Mirage
Length= 18’3"
Model= Jaguar
Drive=Jet
Motor=Kodiak 454 Chevy
HP=350
Top Speed=74.9
0-30= 3.34
0-40= 4.34
0-50= 5.82
0-60= 7.07
Test Date= May-96
Those numbers are pretty good for 350HP. That is a quick hull with an OB on the back as well.

I have driven the 2.5 Merc powered outboard version, and it took a good set, tracked well, and was as stable as a boat that size can be. More $.02.

It sure it purty..........now if it was only set-up for efficient power......... :p
350hp and jet = 75mph
350hp O/B = 115+ mph
Sorry.............the shot was open for the taking! wink

They do look much better with a V-8 with headers shoe horned inside, But talk about a small cockpit!
My friend had one with a 2.5 merc....talk about FAST!

I put a B&M 250 blower on 1 just like it with one 950 cfm carb,motor was a crate 350 hp 454,it runs low 11's at 90 + mph.That's on SDBA clocks.Keep in mind,the boat weighs around 800 lbs.

The boat is 18'3".I built the one that was tested by Hot Boat in 96.If I remember correctly,that was the fastest stock engined jet boat they had ever tested.

GarrySo did you work with Brad Collins in Texas? I almost purchased an outboard model from him in around 1992...The Mirage's are nice still, but I have heard the quality has gone down since he sold the hulls and closed up shop.

I was Brad's only Texas dealer.Mike Mullins bought most of the molds and moved them to Winterhaven,Florida.I haven't fooled with them since then so I couldn't speak for the quality now.The jet boat molds went to Houston for a while,but I don't know where they are now.If someone knows of their whereabouts,I would appreciate the info.
Thanks Ron for your help getting the pics online for me......
