I have camping reservations at Yegua Creek the last weekend in Sept. Would any jet boaters be interested in getting together that weekend? It would be a family type event. I bring a barbacue grill so we could cook Saturday night. There is a nice beach for the kids and the water is shallow with a gentle slope.

I live about 20 mins away, so I will stop by and say hi. It is a really nice park, if you get a camp site with some shade trees :)

I'll try and make it. The weather should be awesome for camping! What area at Yegua will you be at?

I will be at site 15. That site is above the protected cove that is out on the main body of the lake.

Jim, what and where is Jet Fest? My present plans are to go to Quintana Beach County Park. It's just below Surfside Beach.

OK, I just answered my own question. I found a thread. I will see if there are any camping sites near there. I have a 31' travel trailer in addition to the 19' BAJA.

Rocket, you mean to tell me you can find your way all over the South to go to drag races but you don't own a Texas map? Just kiddin dude. The lake is Southwest of Bryan/College Station. Look for highway 36 to the west of Bryan/CS and you will see the lake. There is a town of Somerville and the lake is just to the west. I was at the lake Sat. It is at full pool and the water is cool. It's a big open lake and can get a bit choppy if the wind is up. The lake is fairly clear, you can see 3 or 4 ft down. The beaches are sandy bottom.

:) Yes, I am going. If it dosn't RAIN me out. Man, I am sick of weekend rain. If anybody wants to cook something on the grill Sat. nite, I am bringing a full size propane grill. I haven't talked to the wife yet but we may have a campfire Sat. nite for hotdogs and smores.

I'm gonna try and make it to the lake this weekend, weather permitting. But since my jet is having oil preasure problems, I'll have to take the other boat frown

The weather forcast looks great for this weekend. We deserve it! I will not be bringing the grill up. We will have a fire Sat. nite for hot dogs, etc. Lets try to meet Sat. around 1:00 PM at the beach/cove in front of Yegua Park. I have a 19' Baja bowrider, cream and metalflake brown in color, "TOPLESS" is the name of the boat. The cove is not back by the launch ramp, it's out on the main body of the lake. Hope to see all there Saturday.
