burbonite, I work with a guy that lives on morse. I had my old baja on that lake a few years ago.He lives on the south side of the lake way back in a no wake cove.Takes forever to idle back to his place. We go to lake Lemon, because we can be on the water from the house in about 40 min. gone home, later

Though I no longer live in good ol Indiana. I was born and raised in Anderson and spent every summer weekend for the first 21 years of my life @ Lake James (up by Angola).
I bought my first house a few years ago in Anahiem,CA. Guess what street I live on?? Why I live on Indiana Street! I thought that was kinda ironic.

SD, once a Hoosier, always a Hoosier :D :D After eight years I guess I must nearly be one myself wink
I told you last year that I was going to try Lake James but my lazy ass still hasn't towed more than 1 1/2 hours so far this season . I have a great job but it doesn't allow for time off in the summer, soooo...I keep threatening to leave Friday and drive all night just for the hell of it. I am still entertaining LOTO for the shootout, the only thing is the differing opinions on whether my boat will even survive the "quieter" waters that weekend.
I promise that I will make it to one of the get togethers out your way in the future, it may be that I just turn up for one of the informal gatherings, it depends on the opportunities. Sometimes I can get out that way if the need arises, in fact I have just been asked to go out to the Australian race at the end of October.
That gives me an idea.....I may be able to stay on for a while after we get back, we fly in to LAX and the race following is at Fontana, I had not planned to stay for that but I may be able to swing it so that if there happened to be any boating activity worth attending (read party time!) that week/weekend I would be in! Be it at the river or a lake is of no consequence... I'm sure as s**t could get there. Thinkin' I'll post a question in the West section and see if there is any activity that time of the year, I would think so as we (Hoosiers :) are still out then!

I thought I would check in. We boat on Geist most weekends, its close to home. By the way if you know of anybody that is interested I am selling my boat. 94 Ultra 21XT with a fuel injected 502, 500hp, jet drive. It has all the bells and whistles and is in excellent shape. You can e-mail me or check out the specs in the just jets section. I'll try to post some pics.

Not so fast chrisj, don't sell it until we can at least get to hang out a little :)
If Geist is your favorite flavor then you are not far from HavasuDreamin'.
We are going to be on Morse this Sunday - in the cove no doubt, you should pull on over and have a beer, you can't miss us - we stand out amongst the others...... normally over by the island.
Send me an email if you like, this weekend is the last chance for a while that HD and I will be there together as he has much more important things to attend to for the next few weeks - its all good for him and his fiance!

Yes, It gets rough but you can just slip over to Snow Lake or Jimmerson for some smoother water. When I was a kid I had an 8' homemade boat with a 20hp merc. I would drive that thing in the roughest of water. Maybe that's why I'm such a sick O now. :D
The folks have a place on Lone Tree Point in second basin. Right in the middle. My brother's place in 2 houses down.

you should be able to right click on an image (Media Center, a hosting site that allows linking or any pic, anywhere on this site) and choose "save image location". Make sure you open the image to its full size first or you will link to the thumbnail.
Hit the reply button in the thread/post or click on the "quote" icon in a post.
Click on the image button just below the reply box.
Delete the http etc already there, right click and paste.
To verify, hit "Preview Post" and you should see your chosen image in another window. Close and continue with your reply.
Or........
Hit the reply button.
Right click and paste the aforementioned image in the reply box.

WHERE IS LAKE JAMES?Lake James is straight up I-69 by Angloa and Freemont. It has 3 big basins and can get pretty rough. Looks like you have the right boat for it. Also you can get to Snow lake and Jimmerson Lakes by channels.
First basin has a rockin sandbar that's pretty much the party hang out.
Camping and hotel is at a nice State Park called Pokagen State Park. Potwatame (sp) Inn is in that park and is a very nice hotel right on the lake.

Smooth water................ :D Yes, I went to Coldwater a few times. They sell beer on Sundays up there! An old friend named Greg Gick has a place on Lake Guage. I have not seen him in years but he knows his shit and has been swinging wrenches for years for the local marinas. So if you ever need anything done in that area he would be a good guy to contact.
We used to camp at Salamonie everyweekend before the folks got the lake house. But I was so young that I can't remember much of that.
I was 8 years old when they got the place at James. My dad got it because it was cheeper than an RV! He got it for something like 11 grand back then!

Superdave,
I grew up boating Lake James\Jimmerson\and Snow also. Friends of ours had cottages on all three. We had our boat at the Boathouse on the channel between James and Jimmerson for about 14 years you know the ones with all the garage doors.
I am not a ***boat type of boater but I thought I would check this place out after another guy on a boating forum I frequent talked about this site. After all it is still boating and it is what we all love.
I ended up moving to the Wawasee Lake area in Syracuse for a few years after High school\Air Force then up here in Michigan. You want to talk about rough water; they have 30' boats on that lake!
You dont see to many of these boats you see on this site to often up around here.

Yes I do know the Boathouse. Remember back in the day when the hotel and the soda/arcade place was still at Beldso's (sp again)? Man that was fun times. If you leave the channel and go directly across the lake that is where my folks place is.
I went to Anderson High, class of 81.
We went to the lake james every weekend rain or shine.

Over near Lake George unless it was Lake Gage? my sister rolled our ford conversion van with my younger sister, a friend of mine and I, heading to Fun Spot!. Very scary but all came out good thanks to the seat belts, except I didnt have one on eek! . It was over near the damn, where you could go swimming and slide under.
I am bit younger then you, I graduated in 89' in Ft Wayne.

Well I didn't know if the site you posted them on would let me link to them. So I popped them in the Hot Boat meida center. But anyway. If you right click on just about any image on the net you will get a pop up window. Select properities and then highlight and copy the complete URL address. Now the new upgrade here at HB makes it real easy. Click the image button below the window your typing in. Past the URL address in there.

Nice boat US1.
We've only been to Monroe twice this year. Don't go to Monroe much because the water is so rough, its like being on the ocean. We usually go to Cataract. Smaller but smoother. Try it sometime. Just go south on 231 from Laf. to Greencastle. The pictures on our OFOTO album were taken at Dale Hollow the week after July 4th. We still had the jet-skis then, but have since sold them to buy the Firestar.
We'd love to meet some of you all. Come on up and introduce yourselves if you see us on the lake!

Thanks for the flowers about the family & boat.
I know you really have your work cut out for you with trying to organize the IPBA, and the Poker Run. My talents are not much in that direction, but if you build it, I will come! <chuckle>
Going to Cataract again this Saturday with some friends. Plans not sure for Labor Day, but would like to go to Dale Hollow at least one day. Don't know for sure yet.
I don't know who does the "member ratings" thing, but whomsoever gave me the 5 stars, I thank you! I'll do my best to earn them!
