Man, went to this car auction for the first time. What a blast, so many street rods, muscle cars, foreign exotics. Vendors, displays etc! Here's a few pics.
This is one of the 5 tents. Each tent has about 4 rows of cars running the length! Cars are also displayed outside.

They've been showing alot of the actual auction on Speedvision the last couple days. Been some really nice cars rolling through that seem to be drawing some hefty numbers $$$$$$$$. Reggie Jackson was on last night selling a bunch of his cars. Lots of interesting combinations roll through that place.

I can't believe that Don Johnson's Cuda convertible went for $137,500 and it ain't even a Hemi!
Reggie got the bidding for his copo Camaro up to 275,000, but pulled it. His reserve was $330K! jawdrop

Yup if the folks would have just gone to the Ford dealer and bought a Cobra and GT-40 or two, we'd all have big boats :D A GT-40 that went for 8 grand, now goes for $305,000!!! Add a racing heritage, and lookout eek!

Yea, the price on Don Johnson's "Hemi Cuda" without the Hemi was unbelievable. I wondered if the buyer knew what he was getting. Don't no bums buy cars there.

How do you know if you got a true COPO on your hands?
The reason that I am asking is,because last week I looked at a 66 Impala(2 dr. hardtop)with 396,4-speed,bench seat,zero option car.Just wondering what it's worth,or if it could possibly be a COPO.

Playdeep, they had an interesting spot on just that question last night. If you get your car on the bid list at Barrett Jackson, you have to show up with ALL the documentation that proves it is what you say. They're covering their butt as well, so someone doesn't drop 100+ G's and find out it's a clone. Then here come the lawyers!!! They said Barrett only accepts one out of every ten cars that applies for auction. They can make sure they have the real deal.

Craig,
Have you picked up Hemming's lately?
Even clones are bringing stupid money!
I just bought a 70 Plymouth Satelite(sport)383,auto,to convert to a RoadRunner.
Basically all I have to do is change grills, take the lettering off of the deck lid,add a beep-beep horn correct decals and I have a RoadRunner for under5k.
You can't touch an original for under 10-15k (30k @ Barrett-Jackson) :D
BTW,those are very cool pic's,got any more?

playdeep, that's a good question. the only thing i know is that copo stands for central office production order. i would think if it was a real copo car the owner would definitely know it and be able to prove it. you could probably try some of the chevy sites on the web and get some answers that way too. good luck!
