Assuming one could get this idea to work...
RV refrigerators run on propane. Just a pilot light as far as I know. Could you not build a cooler, like we all carry on our boats, that would fit one of those screw in propane bottles and then keep your stuff cold with no ice? It would need an igniter and a temp control.
I know there is an issue with keeping it level and such, and how long the propane would last..
but what would that be worth to you?

Hmmm good point. Fire + Boat = Bad.
Primary use would be for camping where there is not easy access to ice.

Would be easier to just get a Coleman 12V mini cooler.Looks like a plastic refrigerator but with a cooling fan that keeps things about 40 degrees. Would be perfect for a boat.

I think you are too late on this idea. Read an ad for one in Motorhome magazine recently. Always a bit too late to make a fortune. The one edvertised works on propane, elec or ice.
