You the man Wilder.......I grew up in LA during the 80's listening to all those bands. I still listen to them, in fact I have Ratt 81/91 in my truck as well as Tesla's Replugged. My favorite bands of all time.......
Motley Crue, Ratt, Scrops, Priest, Maiden (Fav. of all time), Tesla, AC/DC, Ozzy, VH, Metallica (Old).
My last few concerts.....Anthrax, LA Guns, Fuel, Tesla. Actually met my wife at the Tesla Show in Chicago, Feb. 2001. Went with my former band and she happened to be the sister of our singer at the time..........
Check out the "guest bassist" on www.tamallicka.com (http://www.tamallicka.com) and you will see my ugly mug. I played with those guys before moving to Indy. I'll be back in the swing of things again shortly!

DAMN The rage show brings back memories.... I ran lights for them..I was so f-ing nervous right before they went on, because I really liked them and thier music ....after the show I knew they were a GREAT band.... the amazing Mr. Tom Morello, RAGE's guitarist has a master's degree in business.... can anyone guess the College?

some pretty great bands have been mentioned here...If you were a real "metalhead" in the 80's then you probably listened to some of these bands...
Accept
Venom
Mercyful Fate
Slayer
Saxon
Some of my other all time favorites:
ZZ Top
Robin Trower
Frank Marino and Mahagony Rush
Blue Oyster Cult
Hell, I listened to punk also:
Discharge
The Exploited
Charged GBH
English Dogs
Ramones
Circle jerks
Black Flag
In fact my idea of mellow music is Pink Floyd, that's about as mellow as I get...

The best Hairband ever:
Van Halen (David Lee Roth.)
Their best album:
Fair Warning
I liked Punk as a kid and didn't like much of the hairband music, but I couln't help but cranking my Fair Warning 8track or Motorhead Aces High once in a while.
BTW, I thought Twisted Sister sucked. Music wasn't bad, but a bunch of guys wearing belly shirts and makeup and ripping off the Animal House movie in all their videos was gay.

True success in the music business is the test of time. Bands that have been around forever and are still doing pretty much the same thing as they have been doing forever and still selling albums is by far a bigger measure of success than some of the fag bands that are mentioned above.
Some fine examples of what I’m talking about are:
Metallica
AC/DC
Ozzy Osbourne
Rolling Stones
The Who
The Scorpions
Kiss
I might even mention AeroSmith, but performing with Britney Spears at the Superbowl or previously with Run DMC is definitely a sellout in my book.
This is not to say that just because a band is dead that they weren’t great, just that the above list is of living legends not past ones or bands that had a few good albums- not enough to be legendary.

in it for some one(notice the word ONE) all hard rock and metal..first one to put up a list of 75 artists with the cd title, gets the note..yes it'll be in USD

Get out from in front of your TV, put on Twisted Sisters Greatest Hits (Big Hits and Nasty Cuts), enjoy a few adult beverages and listen to the live tracks. You may appreciate them a bit more.

I disagree.
Which was the very reason why I never liked Glamour bands as kid. They all seemed overproduced and contrived. Remember that old ad on the radio about Gazzaris? "If they arent Foxy guys and plying rock and roll, they don't get on my stage" I remeber thinking to myself, I don't want to see Foxy Guys. I want off key punks like me making asses out themselves. The music I would go to see were in small venues and had mosh pits. Not arenas and stadiums with a 25 foot barrier between the crowd and a live world cam crane moving around blocking my view. So videos of these bands were about as close as I could get. Besides, I didn't want to get chased down by a bunch of dudes in tight 501s and half shirts and have my ass kicked at those places.
Now having said that, I liked Twisted Sisters sound. It was good. But like I said, couldn't get into a band that Looks like very ugly women. Like I'm sure there were guys who liked Boy George's music, but wouldn't go to their shows either.
Still, the best live show I ever saw was an Alice Cooper show. If you've never been, you missed out big time. Saw VH a couple times and they rule. Judas P, was very good. Saw them at the US fest.
Never meant to offend. Peace out Dirtheads.

I'm a hard rock kinda girl. I can tolerate other stuff depends what it is. My fave bands:
CCR
Nazareth
Stxy (Cornerstone)
Metallica (everything- James Hetfield is a God and I reserve my right to shamelessly worship him. Skill, talent, mind, body, & soul.)
Nine Inch Nails
Scorpions
Foreigner
Trooper
April Wine
Ozzy Osbourne
Judas Priest
Linkin Park
Creed
Matchbox 20
Def Leppard (Pyromania)
Loverboy
Survivor
soulDecision
Billy Idol
Cheap Trick
Supertramp (Breakfast in America)
Toronto
Headpins
Pat Benatar
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
Probably forgot a few. I don't like every song of those listed I like Best of compilations. Well, Metallica- I love it all.
Hate:
Jazz, Big Band, Old Country, Gospel, Elevator.
I like certain songs by some Rap/Hip Hop artists- (Snow, Salt n Pepa, Eminem, Reel 2 Reel, Nelly, Akinyele, 504 Boys, Missy Elliot, Eve, Danko Jones, Swollen Members)
Like some of but usually no:
Classic Disco- Donna Summers, Celi B. and the Buzzy Bunch, Amii Stewart
Opera- (Pavarotti, Charlotte Church)
New country- ????
Contrived girl/boy bands- what can I say? The f'ing tunes stick in my head if I want 'em to or not and I can't stand knowing only a snippet of a song so I know most of those dumb songs word for word  ... but I don't seek them out or pick them first yuck!
I prefer rock hard/hard rock! If the bass ain't changing my heart rhythm it ain't loud enough!

I finally made it HOME to Vancouver in '93. LOL! The ex tried convincing me we should move to Delta, Richmond, Burnaby etc, (no offense spectras only :) ) I'm like "No, but thanks for asking, hon. I live in Vancouver. Never leaving again. You have yourself a good time in one of the outlying cities I'm staying put." LOL! Funny that he never followed through! :)
beached1 *sigh* I simply cannot match wits with you you are WAY too clever! wink I am Canadian and proud of it. I like Loverboy. I swear I put the paint can away! Really I did! :D I don't like snow. Admitting that is akin to blasphemy in Canada.
