What is your favorite song or music,
You like to listen to, or jam to at the River or lake?

You name it, I play it. I got a CD burner with the new Dell just for that reason. Now with the help of internet music swapping sites and a huge hard drive, I have 300+ songs on the hard drive and a big stack of random party mix cd's. Everything from 80's to Hip-hop. Of course loads of Jimmy Buffett and Bob Marley always go over well too.

nothing but the sound of a big block running with open headers. Unfortunately for me (and my pocketbook) my neighbors didn't quite agree.

I couldn't figure out how to edit my post...
I meant the Pogues.
By the way, I'm down with most of the music mentioned here. I'm a little thin on my tollerance for RAP and Hip Hop but in very small doses, they're OK.

this is a touchy subject with me, considering I do spend a good amount of time in Froggy's boat "on the rocks". We bumped heads on a cd he made for OP6, it was alot of girlie songs, destiny's child, britney spears, missy elliot and others of the sort. Well, it turned out, that is the kind of music that girls hear over most other types, kind of like a dog whistle but for girls. On top of that, it puts them in a trance after they hear approximatley 12.3 min of this, their clothes start to come of, it worked pretty good at OP6, but worked extremley well at Martinez for the 4th. So count me in for having girlie music on the river, but you wont catch me dead listening to it in the car.

Guys,
What are some sites I can get on here at work to download some music? I am on the work network, so some of the 'shared files' sites I am unable to get on and get music.
thanks
BTW,
I always carry SHAGGY with me at the river

Thor,
try Winmx.com. As you on a LAN you will probably have to run it as a secondary connection.
KazaaLite is another but the site goes down sometimes, I think they are on the run from "The "Man." This is theSpyware free version of Kazaa and probably preferable to it's big brother.

Typically I'll play alot of Hip Hop as that's always seemed to get everyone dancing etc..
Mostly though if I'm just cruising or being mellow,
Jimmy buffet
Bob Marley
Willie nelson
Neil Diamond (not it doesn't = gay) LOL
The Judds
I do listen to alot of country out there, but I typically play it at the house. Been getting complaints on the country though lately. :( I like it.
I'll play just about anything actually.
I try to keep a variety of different musics going for different applications. I have been kown to play a couple of songs that I like probably a little too much. I.E. #1 by Nelly. LOL

My musical taste is pretty eclectic. I could go on for pages on what I like to listen to, which is just about anything that doesn't suck. wink
So, I broken some down into catagories.
Best all time rock band:
Van Halen (the David lee Roth one)
The Cult
Best rock b4 VH came around:
Black Sabbath
Alice Cooper
Stones
The Who
I should say Aerosmith, but they are too f**king annoying these days. They have all but ruined my fond memories of them as a kid. They are now a top 40 KIIS fm, one stupid ballad after another piece of crap.
Best hard rock/speed metal:
Metallicas early years, like Kill em all and Garage days.
Best old Punk:
Sex Pistols, Black Flag, Circle Jerks
Best New punk:
Birthday Party, Casket Lottery, L7
Best Indie/ underground:
Le Tigre'/Bikini Kill
Best alternative:
The Pixies
Best Country:
Merle Haggerd and Johnny Cash
Best new age:
New york Underground, Okenfold, Moby.
Best music for when your are staring at the sun wondering why we are here, if their is any other life existing in a simialr solar system and if 7eleven is open 24hrs, why do they have locks on their doors and who the hell painted a picture of Ralph Macchio as the Karate Kid on a pillar by the I10 and 57 interchange?:
Godspeed You Black Emperor

"Best of Y & T" was last trip
Motorhead, and also I have two tribute albums I like a lot:
A Tribute to Judas Priest, Legends of Metal
A tribute to Twisted Sister, Twisted Forever
Anything crunchy will work.
If there's no little ears around, Body Count. They crank too, but every other word is F* or N* . But you gotta admit, "KKK Bitch" and "There goes the neighborhood" are classic tunes.
Cheers
CA Stu <-- Buckskin this weekend.
