Killer let his friend ride his Kawi Ninja that he just had overhauled and paid off this weekend. I just got the news that his friend crashed it doing about 40. His friend riding it is hurt but will be OK. The thing that is the most screwed up is that killer was going to get it fully insured on Monday and his friend crashed it into the front of Killers truck!!!!!! That really sux. I guess you should never let friends drink and drive your vehicles. (or even close to your vehicles) Ok, I don't know the alcohol content of this story but crashing a bike into a parked vehicle going 40...HHMMMMMM

Is this a true story, or more pot stirring??? Either way that is a real bummer. No insurance on the bike? We'll se how good of a friend this guy is. I wonder if his insurance would cover it?? Maybe his homeowners' policy???? Good Luck. boxed

Our Race Team manager lost control of his modified Hyabusa in our rear parking lot yesterday. Bike went through a chain link fence, a pole stopped him..... :(
Broken pelvis, internal bleeding, torn ligaments, he is out for at least twelve weeks. Luckily he only scraped his head and didn't smack it hard - no helmet!.
Never could understand that thinking

Hopefully he handles it as a friend,
Had a buddy years ago, back into my wifes new car and take out the front end. She was coming in from out of town and I was going to pick her up in her car(was). At the airport she ask where is the car, have to think quick and explain all the way home. It all woked out he paid for all the repairs and she was cool about it after a few days. http://bbs.off-road.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/censor.gif

They are 10 years old, look like new, and my wife and I are the only ones that ride 'em. Don't wanna even think about liability of someone riding them. Too many dumbasses out there.
As far as the boats go, hahahahaha, you wanna borrow my boat? Kidding, right?
Even shit like tents, tools or whatever, I say no way, work your ass off like us and buy your own......

I agree with all of you. My ex-brother inlaw once borrowed my car supposidly for an hour. When he finally came home, he had totalled my car, was drunk and laughed about the whole thing. To this day i have no respect for him. He never once said he was sorry or tried to make it right.Oh well guess thats why he is my EX- brother inlaw. Things like that tend to run in families.

Moral of the story,,,Don`t be a DICK! Shit Hoss, like everything else in my life I learned the hard way. I used to be a nice guy, loaned friends money, let 'em borrow my stuff. Seemed like every time I got the stiffie on the deal.
I'm not like you think at all. Just last night I took a detour down a side road coming back from the lake so I could stop at a little BBQ stand for a sandwich. The guy that runs the place is 64, bought it last year so he could make a little money- he doesn't have a 9 to 5.
While he was slicing the brisket he told me his wife got laid off, bills were piling up, things were pretty grim. So I told him I needed a pound of brisket and a pound of sausage to take home, and oh yeah, gimme another sandwich 'cause I'm hungry.
When he got done it all came to $19, I gave him two $20 bills and told him "Let's just assume I'm bad at math."
So I don't have a problem helping people, it's the damn slackers that aren't considerate enough to take care of my stuff that get the brushoff.

Are you telling me you hang with crackheads? Cause if so I coulda told ya don`t lend them shit. They will sell it. I know this cause I`m across town buying your lazyboy recliner for 10 bucks. And if its meth tweekers,,,,,,just get a gun and shoot that poor bastard. :p

I hate to be tight but let's face it, when you loan a wrench, the odds of that set being complete again before you buy the replacement are pretty low. My closest friends are good and do return stuff... well, mostly. :D
Hey, I don't want to live in isolation but I don't want to get boned either.

HOSS

But I tell you what. If my friend wants to borrow a tent,,,go ahead. Now if they don`t give it back,,,,,stab them in the eye with a flat head. They will not only give your tent back but won`t want to borrow it again. Problem solved.

If it was financed and "just paid off" I think that your insurance ought to still be in force. Doesn't it last for 30 days after the last payment? I'd be surprised if the insurace quit the day the financing was set to end.....

You wanna borrow my boat, take it. You wanna borrow my truck, take it. You wanna borrow my tent, tool box, river house, street rod, garden hose, scooter or my house take any of that as well. I figure if I have it and you need it and ask for it, take it and enjoy it.
I guess we could sit in a corner and rub, touch, play with, fondel and admire our very own stuff but what fun would that be???
I'm thinkin if I've been blessed with all kinds of cool stuff or anything else and someone else is struggling why not share the gifts.

AHHHHHHHHH, Acceptance.....my new friend. I just watched your boat do leaps this weekend on a video tape. I have a glossy 10x12 of it too. I was pondering an autograph.
So I guess I have to get a lifeline to drive your flattie...come to think of it don't you have one?
All fun aside, I agree, I let my friends use my shit IF they are capable of handling it.
I have personally rode GM Killers Kawi, as a seasoned rider, but I can tell you his bike isn't for the faint at heart. I haven't talked to him yet, but I am 100% sure the dork riding it didn't know what the **** he was doing. That bike throws a whoopin' down on my 900RR.
I'm doubly sad...not only because of the bike, but I was planning on taking GM Killers flattie out to Needles this weekend. I feel guilty taking it now.

Live a good life, get a clue... Hey, don't make me out to be an asshole and tell me to get a clue. Last December: Friend wrecked wife's car, $4K damage, she didn't have insurance so it went on our record. No offer to reimburse us for the $500 deductible.
Loaned my 26' box van with a 6000 lb liftgate to one of my subcontractors, he tore the liftgate off the truck on a dock, no insurance. Cost $10K to fix it, had to replace the entire thing and paid for it out of my pocket. Same truck, loaned it to an employee's husband, he hit a tree and did about $2,000 damage. Only thing I got from him was a vehement denial that he did it.
On and on and on. Don't call me "tight, controlling and greedy", if I was then they wouldn't have been allowed to borrow it in the first place. Call me sick of assholes that don't have anything of their own. It's easy to look at someone who owns a couple of boats, has nice tools, and a place to keep 'em and say he's an asshole cause you can't borrow 'em.
I say go get your own shit. If you wanna go out to the lake with me, then bring a ****ing cooler of beer and some snacks, and let's go. When we pull up to the gas dock, reach in your pocket and help out. That's what I do, why can't the parasite that has no boat, insurance, or storage payments do the same?
If you are lucky enough to afford all the toys and pay for the damage or replacement to 'em because of shortdicks that say they're your friend then be my guest.

All I have to say is: I dont loan anything to people that arent gonna use it in the vicinity where I am at. Why the **** should I loan tools, or anything else to people that dont return them, and now I get to go replace the shit after I go to use it, and remember that the dirtbag didnt bring it back? Go buy your own shit, and kick yourself in the ass for not being prepared. Like this guy at Fontana yesterday asked me if I "had an extra beer that he could buy?" No, I dont have any extra beer, you ****ing red nose, cos my rate of consumption, multiplied by hours at the track that I am actually awake, have already been precisely calculated. Plus, youre already in the bag anyways, so next time bring more beer. Other than that, I loan my stuff out all the time!!! LMAO...-Dick "Selfish Prick" Danger Out

Here's one that I know many will be able to relate to...
Don't you love it when you go to use one of your specialty tools that get extremely infrequent use, such as a micrometer or maybe a spring compressor for strut work, and it isn't there... so you rack your brain and eventually manage to remember who you loaned it to... you call the guy to see if you loaned it to him and he says, "Oh yeah, I've got it. You're welcome to stop by and pick it up any time."
... now that's a ****.
I was trying to walk the fence on this one but the truth is there's only two guys I'll loan much of anything to.

I sometimes let people borrow my stuff. I don't really mind but like DD I feel better if it is to be used in my vicinity. If you value the friendship it is just easier to not let them use it instead of taking the chance of them wrecking it and walking away. I let my family borrow my stuff.
Don't even ask to borrow my boat or motorhome. I have worked hard to get MY toys and to keep them in good shape for me & my family to play with. Go get your own toys and we can head to the lake together. :D

I'm very careful about who I loan stuff to. Too many things don't get returned in working order. When I was a kid, I had it until my brother broke it, being the way things were. He gets his PhD if he passes his test Friday, but he is still a walking demo derby. My Dad won't even ride in a car he is driving. So why should I loan him or his ilk my precious toys?

I'm very careful about who I loan stuff to. Too many things don't get returned in working order. When I was a kid, I had it until my brother broke it, being the way things were. He gets his PhD if he passes his test Friday, but he is still a walking demo derby. My Dad won't even ride in a car he is driving. So why should I loan him or his ilk my precious toys? LOL, they must be related. I worked like hell when I was in high school, bought a new '73 TransAm. My brother (he's older than me) blew the engine in it TWICE, I don't remember him helping to fix it.
Hmmmmmm, I'm starting to recall why I have broken his nose three times. :D :D :D

I like to think it could be summed up thusly:
<blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">code:<hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;">while ( trust )
do
loan
if ( returned_broken || not_returned )
then
! trust ; exit
fi
done
no trust; no loan</pre><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">

You know Leibniz, I enjoy a good script as much as anyone but you're playing to a niche crowd here. :D :D :D
Can't you keep it to long division or something?

Maybe I could rewrite it in COBOL so it would be more descriptive for the folks.

Holy ****! eek!
You sure called that one TB. This thread dropped faster than the tugboat twins dropping to the bottom of the lake ...
**** sakes. O.k. Maybe I'll lurk for a while until I get a feel for the eloquence of the conversation before I jump in again... something's not meshing here...
I'm gone 10-8 and 10-10.
