Yesterday I tore down my Cole so I can redo some things, and kept finding things I wanted to fix. I found some little stress fractures where the left stringer meets the floor back where the engine sits. They are only on the outside of the stringer, none in the bilge area. They look to be about 1-2 inches long and they look like the resin cracked. No matting is torn, and everything is very very solid. Do I need to get these repaired, or do all boats get them? I need an educated answer please.

And then theres this lone little stress fracture all by itself about a fot away from the others. Its about 6-8 inches long, and again looks like just the resin cracked, but should I do something about it or leave it?

then theres this little gem, I know this needs repair. You can see the crack in the center bottom, and there are two cracks at the top on each side. The glass and wood are broken, but the hull is sound. Do I need to cut this whole piece out and glass a new one in, or can I cut pieces of wood, and brace the fractures and glass them in?? This piece is one foot forward of where your feet go.

That thing would be kick-ass hanging on the wall in the garage. Or better yet, a killer sandbox......

I would fix the bulkhead. Take the whole thing out and replace. I did mine last year, she broke on some wakes. Boat feels much better now.

Hey guys, just cleaned out my garage and made room to work. Going today to pick up the wood and glass. It should be back together in a week or two. Post some pics later. I did go around the inside of the boat and replaced all the little nuts that hold on the stainless trim with new ones and some blue locktite. Should be good now, but what a pain in the ass!! One of the headers is cracked, maybe weld it for now? Or get a new set and have them coated.

Are you going to step it up a notch or put the old motor back in her? Inquiring river junkies want to know?

The old motor is going back in with aluminum heads, and new headers. Also switching to a polished demon carb. I'm looking to ditch the carpet all together and purchase some polished IMCO tanks.

Very cool. The glue on the polished tanks that are in there is really hard to get off. I tried. Are you going to balsa wood floors?
