OutCole'd;
After a very long period of research and talking with owners of several brands, the Conquest was hands down the clear cut choice for us. And yes I would buy another one.

I would just like to know what a few people that own them are paying for insurance. But I guess nobody besides bof has one?

I have a 2003 Magic Deck boat with the HP500 and whipple sc. I pay $1104 per year with Farmers Ins. co. I chose the Magic because I like the fact that you passenger looks forward and sits behind a portside helm so they can also get out of the wind. Looking down the sides of both boats, the Magic is for sure the straightest of the two by a long shot. I think the fit and finish of the hard parts and the interior lay out of the Magic are far better than the Conquest

We have a Howard with a 496 and pay 766.00 with Progressive for actual cost replacement insurance. My .02

Thanks for the info. I also like the interior layout of the Magic much more than the Conquest. I think both the Magic & Conquest are great boats. From what I have read & heard the Conquest has a better reputation for rigging. The problem with the Conquest is the front bench seat. If I go for a ride with just a friend, & he is sitting next to me while cruising in the channel, that would suck. I might as well put on a set of assless chaps & hop on the back of a friends Goldwing & go for a ride. :D
Insurance seems reasonable on both boats which is good news from all the horror stories I had heard.

Jack, Did you put the whipple on after you owned the boat? If so, what kind on numbers were you getting before with just the HP500? That is the set up I am thinking of using.
Thanks again for the info.

Magic is definately straighter when looking down the side when comparing it to the Conquest. Plus I was able to get a much better price with the Magic. I went with the open bow Cat. It has the extra seating under the bow with lots of room.
I am using Farmers Ins. $925 per year.
You can check out my boat pictures in the February Hot Boat Magazine.
Good luck with your pick. See you in Havasu.

Thanks, It does not seem that the insurance is that bad for these boats.
Anyone else have a Magic Deck Boat?
Comments?

I have got the Magic deck on order, it will be done in about 6 weeks. As far as my opinion I obviously like the Magic better, but I am sure the Conquest is a good product as well. Insurance: $875/year through USAA (for current or ex-military).
Good Luck!

Congratulations on the new boat. What engine package did you go with?
