After a year of trying to decide. I bought this car on Sunday. It is a 1929 Model A Ford four door sedan. It has 62,000 original miles. The car hasn't seen day light since 1962. I will get it running this weekend. I bought it to sell but after getting it home. I think its a keeper. The wife isn't to impressed.... argue She will get over it sooner or later.... wink

It looks amazingly rust free for being in your region that long...or are you standing in front of it all? Looks like some fun ahead of you, should have been doing this before boating season though!!!

It has two rust holes in one front fender the size of a dime. Its hard to believe being from the rust capital of the world.

I to recently became a Model A owner, but get this my wife wanted it and bought it last oct. It is a 30 pickup closed cab. I got lucky in that it is a original cherry, that was restored over 20 years ago. All i get to do is change hoses and belts and it is done. I had mentioned to the boss about a corvette frame and drive-train and was swiftly reminded who's truck it was!.I guess it will remain stock. You will be amazed that you can find every single part for a 74 year old car. Good luck.

Cool lookin' project Dan. Congrats. I'm into model A's and T's big time too. Sold my 29 tudor last year but still have my T.
Someone switched wheels on you car sometime through the years. The ones on your car are off a 30-31 and are 19", the 28-9 came with 21 inch wheels.
Let us know when you fire her up. Nothin like the sound of a banger.

I have all 5 of the 21 inch wheels. The wheels on the car were only to put it in my Dads brand new enclosed trailer. He wasn't to keen on the bare rims on the floor. argue
As far as what im going to do with the car depends on a couple things. The car has to be restored. It is way to nice to make into a Street Rod.
My Dad has two National first Model A,s. He would shoot me if I even mentioned making a Street Rod out of it. wink
Here are a couple more pictures.

Very Cool. Two thumbs up.........and as much of a Street Rod fan as I am, I can see your point regarding putting it back to original specs. Good Luck restoring it, and post some pictures of the process.

Very cool car. It's been a long time since I've seen one in such great shape. My Grand-father rebuilds/restores those on a regular basis. He's had over 4 of them featured in a magazine that deals with that erra of classic, granted most of the work was restored in Texas he did put alot of sweat, blood, and tears into the projects.
I sure hope someday I have the passion he had in dedicating his time for the "labor of love" he expressed in everyone single part on those old buckets.
Can't wait to see the end-result of your efforts!

I put a battery in the car and cleaned the carb. It fired up the first try. It runs excellent.
It does however have one small problem. At some point in its life the rear end was apart. Whoever put it back to-gether must have been confused. The ring gear is in back-wards. So it has three reverse gears and one forward. eek! jawdrop

My pops and I use to have a '29 Roadster pickup. It was a hot rod with Porsche red paint, chrome Jag rearend, Ford 289 motor, tan leather and top, and all chrome and detailed undercarriage. After ten years of showing and maintaining that car we got tired of taking care of it on top of the boats too and sold it. Both of us miss it and Dad is on the brink of buying a new hot rod. Congrats on the '29 Four door. A friend of ours use to have one of those but it was a Briggs bodied fiberglass car. Glass is Ass! Steel is real! Could be real cool after some hard work and a few greenbacks. Make it a Hot Rod!
