about 800/year with Allstate for a 1989 24' campbell. I've had great luck with allstate, had a couple of minor claims and no haggles. One time, the check was at home before I even got back from a 4 day w/e!

Insurance rates will vary too much to give you an accurate idea of how much you will pay. It depends on HP, type of boat, record (both yours and the boat manu.), where you boat and where you live. Add types of coverage, what else you have covered, etc.
I have a friend that lives in the north part of the state. He had his mailing address just over the state line. When he got a new house, he moved his insurance on his cars to the new address and his premiums doubled. This is less than 20 miles difference and nice small town USA.

We use progressive! 27' Dana with a 496 HO. We pull a HIGH deductable to keep the yearly down. We only carry insurance for the other guy and in case we lose the whole boat. We can afford to fix the silly sh*t. It is the big stuff we sweat.
Good luck.

Frenchie - you might want to think about taking a Coast Guard Auxillary or Power Squadron or other Boating course to further reduce your insurance premium. I even think you can take one on-line in California. The more boating experience, the less the premium is.

98 eliminator daytona, 21' Have State Farm for $900 per year. Normally would not cover this boat, but I have all my vehicles, house, life and umbrella through them. Pay about $500 per month to those people. They did not want to lose me.
