If you get him on a job where another crew is using a laser, warn him about the dangers of looking at the beam.
Then explain to him how if the beam hits him in the nuts, it will make him sterile.... Tell him to go over to the other crew's foreman and ask for a nut shield to protect himself.
Works every time..... :D :D

Geez... this reminds me of light duty hazing in the real Navy. The thing is, your indoctrination on a ship is a serious business, and you have to meet the entire ship during your indoc and check in period. You are green as hell, and don't know one end from the other, but you have two sheets of people you need to go check in with and let them know who you are, and do whatever they need you to. Electrical needs to test all of your plug in devices for shorts, Medical needs your records, Admin needs your personnel record and payment information etc... Here were some of the pranks.
HT Punch. Go to the HT's (Welders) and ask for one. You get a very bruised arm.
Bucket of prop wash /flight line/ etc... self explainatory.
Military bearing grease. Always funny.
Conductivity test. Go ask an ET (Electronics Technician) for a conductivity test. Keep in mind, these guys just tested your electric shaver for shorts, getting personally tested seems normal. Problem is, they "test" you with a megger, which generates several amps of electricity when spooled up. Makes it tough to drop the leads when you are busy convulsing.
Mail buoy watch. This is ostensibly how submarines get their mail to the surface ships. They send up a mail buoy in the path of the ship. Your job is to sit out in the weather with a big boat hook and grab it when it comes by. This is usually out of shouting distance from another human.
There are hundreds.

We had every new guy to the site go across the street to check in. wink
We would tell them they needed to check into the construction office across the street and ask for Dick. eek! eek!
Absolutely hilarious. :D

measuring tape return spring rejuvinater is a good one.the job site superintendents should keep it next to the plywood sheet roller. in electrical- :D service loops are a good thing to have a coulple boxes of. and if testing for electrical short ciruits it's always good for some one to go check and see if the gf has any for viewing (so the new guy nows what he's looking for) if you happen to have a capacitor around charge it up and chuck it to a friend.,

Send him for some DiHydrogen Oxygenate(H2O), but warn him that the gaseous version(steam) is not compatible with the solid form(ice) and they must be kept separate, so a combination of wink liquid and solid would be best.

When I was breaking in ("Back in the Day") they sent me to ABCO (anyone remember that place?)for some "Toenails" eek!
and when I got back my nail bags were hanging from a board nailed to the top plate over hanging the garage. I had never walked the top plate on a 2nd story before and I learned you don't scoot on your ass. I've played that trick on a few "CUBBIES" since then.
