Who wants to bet it'll be something to do for one of the electricity companies he enrichened by billions this past year?
If a guy makes your company a billion dollars, you could pay him 100 million a year for 9 1/2 years and still come out ahead!

I'm betting he'll become a major porn star since he had so much success effing millions of people.
Since porn stars can run for political office it's time politicians became porn stars.

Is it just me, or don't you think that when you misrepresent the people and are removed prematurely, that you should have to pay some fines or sit in prison? I mean, some poor bastard who steals food from a grocery store will go to jail, why not GD? He stole from us, now I want his money; all of it. I want him in the f’ing poor house. Take his fortune, I say.

The Oracle debacle:

Upping the Car Tax.
Negotiating with the Indian Casinos for tax revenue while accepting their reelection campaign donations. (conflict of interest?)
Increasing the pensions of prison guards (another bigger contributer).
Etc., etc., etc....
You get the idea.
Finally...fiscal mismanagement of the state causing a budget deficit unheard of in our country for an individual state.

I don't have enough time or a good reason to educate you as to how Gray Davis has cost every citizen and taxpayer in this state lots of hard-earned money. You've made it clear that you don't get it or don't want to get it. So it only makes sense that you're going to continue to support one of the only governors ever to be kicked out of office in mid-term.
But you don't care. Even though millions of Californians voted to throw him out of office. Obviously they got it wrong and you're the one of the few who knows the truth.
I do want to thank you for bringing so much levity to an all too serious subject. :D
And as for me not being able to afford a ticket to Magic Mountain - I heard they keep a seat reserved and waiting for you on the kiddie motorcycle ride.

The Oracle debacle:
See this (http://news.com.com/2100-1017-900588.html)
I read it, and it appears it was more of a screw up and incompetence on the staff of GSA, and Davis would have been far removed from the decision. It stated a $25,000 contribution from Oracle, peanuts. The article speakes for itself and was not an attack on Davis rather a major administrative screw up.
Upping the Car Tax.
The car tax wasn't up'd as much as it was returned to the predetermined levels prior to it's being lowered by Wilson. It was always intended, and included as part of the original legislation that the tax would be returned to 2% of value if the economic situation warranted it.
Negotiating with the Indian Casinos for tax revenue while accepting their reelection campaign donations. (conflict of interest?)
Questionable, at least, objectionable at best
Increasing the pensions of prison guards (another bigger contributer).
The prison guards, like all cali LE and Fire Services, have had huge increases in their retirement programs. To pick on PG's is unwarranted unless you go after police and fire also. Prison Guards are also very low paid, and like all other safety personnel, provide a great service to soscity as a whole. 3% at 50 is a very expensive benefit that will cause financial crisis in a city near you!
Etc., etc., etc....
While we may like to bash Davis, he's easy to go after. He single-handedly did not create the economy to falter. The entire country has been tied up in recession for over two years. The events of 9/11 had alot to do with that. Only now are we beginning to recover as a COUNTRY.
Finally...fiscal mismanagement of the state causing a budget deficit unheard of in our country for an individual state.
Remember 9/11 and the recession??? It's not ALL his fault. I think the last figure I heard was that something like 47 states are hurting, as well as the federal government.
The electrical crisis was just that, but it was a made up crisis - by Enron. Who would have thought that a well respected corporate utility would illegally and in felonious intent conspire to defraud the state of california? I know I would have never thought such a thing could happen, I now know better. At the time, however, who'd of thunk it? If you were in his shoes, woldn't you do everyting you could to keep the lights on? I would have. It has been proven that the electric crisis was a conspiracy of great proportions. Did Gray blow it, yes and no. Is he entirely to blame for it? Absolutely not, in fact, Wilson signed electric degreulation and it was passed 79-1 in the Senate and 40-0 n the Assembly. Before Gray was Governor.
His speech the other noght was very concilitory and in fact I believed it to be very respectful of the california public and the voters in particular.
Now, at this time, we need to move on. Let's all focus our energy into making things better than dwelling on the past.
I know I'm ready to move forward...

REACTION? If the legislature passes bills and if he didn't sign them, they go into law anyway, it's the way it works. He does not have to sign every bill that crosses his desk for it to become effective. He could veto them, but what if the bills are good bills? Do you want them vetoed?
I think it's a good thing that the party in power (at this time it is still GD) has the authority to make judicial appointments. If the judges were all the same, we'd be in a sorry state of affairs, that's why some our our country's highest courts have multiple members, so that there is fair balance to decisions being made and carried out. Can you imagine if the supreme court was made up of all Democrats, or all Republicans? The ability of the pres to appoint judges to the bench is what makes the system fair and just.

Arizona is in dire straits also, and our electric company in LHC was given a 22% rate increase to cover a large deficit resulting from having to purchase power at the extorted market price during the fake energy crisis. Can I blame Gray Davis for Arizona's problems? He seems to be responsible for everything else (NOT!!)
I'm more inclined to blame Cheney's secret meetings with the energy industry, and the Bush administration's unwillingness to put the energy traders in prison and sieze the money that was stolen and return it!! But it really isn't fair to ask GWB to treat his friends like criminals, is it?

I think Davis' new job will include the phrase ".....would you like fries with your burger?"...........As usual AzDon got it wrong again. Blaming the Bush admin. for the energy crisis [along with everything else] happen before Bush was even elected so how is it he's responsible for that? Because he didn't rush to Calif's aid? Because he didn't shovel truck loads of money to Calif? Keep in mind Enron gave just as much money to the Democrats as they did the Republicans, but I guess thats ok as long as the Democrats are fighting the "Good fight" then its ok to take money from anyone, Right? Learn the facts before spouting off, or are you even interested in the facts? What Enron did to Calif was payback for Davis terminating long term electricity contracts because he [Davis] thought he could do better on the spot market. That almost bankrupt Enron since Calif was over 90% of Enron's business. Enron layed off thousands of people and the CEO went 18 months without a paycheck, all because Davis cancelled the contracts. When the tide changed for Calif. Enron saw a chance to pay back the "favor" Davis did for them they jumped at it. Davis was recalled by the people who voted him in. Was he responsible for everything? No, but he was the easiest and most likely target. Calif voters have had it with the system and the control of special interest. We are fed up with having propositions overturned by some hare brained judge ruling on some special interest group lawsuit. We are fed up with paying for state programs that do little or no good. We are fed up with the waste of our tax dollars and no one to account for it. We are fed up with being told to shut up and pay more money because we [the govt.] wasted it and we need more so your taxes will go up. We are sick and tired of paying more and getting less. Since you are a resident of Arizona what interest do you have with what we do here? Do you have a dog in this fight? I'll make a deal with you....you don't mettle in Calif politics and I won't mettle in Arizona politics...deal?
