I used to do A/C repairs for an Airport area hotel.
Ya never knew who would answer when ya knocked on the hotel rooms door.
Once it was Roone Arledege. He's the guy that's behind Monday night Football on ABC.
One time, a Hotel bellhop decide to take a dump in Arledge's room's bathroom when he dropped off Roones luggage. Roone was downstairs downing a few Old Crows at the bar. Ol Roone walked in on the bellhop as he was pinching off a loaf,, the place smelled like Camel Farts,, and ol Roone had a deluxe temper and was ballistic.
One other time,, it was Gymnast Kathy Rigby who answered.
Tiny little thing,, but a face like the label on a barbituate bottle.
Another occasion, I was working on a refer behind a sushi bar. I stood up,, and staring me right in the face was Liz Taylor on the other side of the sushi bar.
The sushi bar had high intensity lights like in a jewlery store. She had eye color like Easter lavender,, never seen anyone with lavender eyes.
Awsum!
Any other celebrity stories??? I could go on and on,,,
Lets hear yours:

One of my favorite people I ever met and talked to many times is Dick VanDyke.
Kathy Bates is real cool, Cheech Marin is a nice guy. Customer Service in upper class areas has it advantages. Treat them liek normal people, they might do the same.

I bought a cigar for James Gandolfini in a swank hotel bar in Aspen. He thanked me but said nothing else. He was with an HBO crew for that comedy jam one year.
Rode an elevator at Ceasars with Evander Holyfield and his posse. He was in a suit that I could almost see my reflection in and was one Big MoFo. eek!

Since my wife's little brother played pro-ball for several years, we met a lot of MLB players.
Had breakfast with Mark McGuire, back when he was a rookie. One of the nicest people I've ever met is Gaylord Perry. When my son was 2 weeks old (he's 22 years old now) we took him on his first outing to a Spring Training game in Yuma with the Cubs. Bruce Sutter, Dick Tidrow, Bill Buckner, and the rest of the team spent more time playing with him, than playing ball.
Just last year, when we were up in Seattle, got to meet Julio Cruz. He, and my brother-in-law are coaching high school ball up there.
Went to high school with Mike Scott (Cy Young winner with the Astros), and Bill "Spaceman" Lee. The Wilson Brothers (Beach Boys) lived a few blocks over when I was growing up. We'd always go by when they were practicing.
When I lived down on Hermosa Avenue, my place was next door to a house rented for the summer by the guys from Supertramp. Those dudes could PARTAY!
And then there's always the racers who hang out down here. Robby Gordon, Paul Tracy, and PJ Jones.
I think my greatest "meet", was way back when I did a Barstow to Vegas MC race, and lined up next to a racer named Pancho Spain. AKA Steve McQueen.
When the wife worked in Beveraly Hills, she ran into Muhammed Ali, David Cassidy, Clint Eastwood, and a bunch more at different times in the elevator of her building.

Oh yeah. Forgot one.
When I was up at Callville Bay on Mead with the Coast Guard, we liked to cruise over to Lake Mead Marina at night to troll for action.
This drunk as a skunk 18 year old chick cruises in with her entourage, and demands to be served. The beertender says no. One, because she's under age. Two, because she's hammered.
She let loose with a barrage of expletives that made this old sailor blush, saying she had "enough F...ing money to buy this piece of s..t dump", and similar rants.
Lost a lot of respect for Tanya Tucker that night.

In no particular order....
Two of the three Dahm (sp?) triplets made me a cocktail on their party bus.
I was invited to a cast party for one on JC Vandam's movies and hung out with he and his father.
I worked at a hotel that all of the peeps that were invited to Robin Williams 40th B day party stayed at. Saw way too many stars wearing nothing in the locker room, but also got to hear a lot of dirty jokes from the likes of Gary Shandling, Billy Crystal and the dude that plays Arli$$. Also got to meet Kim Bassinger the same weekend.
Had lunch right next to and chit chatted with Danny Glover.
Went to Mr. Dolby's (yes he is actually a person)60th birthday party.
I have met two men that walked on the moon. Gene Cernan and Niel Armstrong.
I met Chuck Yeager and Greg "Pappy" Boyington.
I shared a rather strange evening with Dickie Bets (sp?) in Mexico. (long story)
I met Walter Payton at a race track, along with Eddie Hill and Shirley Muldowney.
And a ton of pseudo celebs

In addition to meeting some celebs along the way, it turns out that a few of my childhood buddies are pretty famous.
The Maloof brothers, known them since grade school. They own the Sacramento Kings, the Palm Casino in Vegas, and some other cool stuff.
Jay Roach, known him since 7th grade, the director of the Austin Powers movies.
Most of the famous folks I meet these days are connected with racing, here's a photo of me and Michael Schumacher taken earlier this year.

I met Arnold Schwarzenegger while waiting for my Dad to come through Customs at LAX. Would have been about 1987-88, I don't remember how popular he was then, but I recognized him (I owned the book "Bodybuilding for men" by Arnold Schwarzenegger) and yelled "Hey Arnold!". He came over and shook my hand and said "Hello, how are you?". No shit.
He was wearing a suit, and I can remember thinking "This guy is huge! He ain't that tall (I'm 6 foot, I looked down at him), but he's frickin' wide.
Swear to God.

I was eating dinner in a Japanese restaurant, it was new in town and we wanted to try something different. In Japanese restaurants the patrons all gather around a central griddle and are served by one chef. The night was slow and we were waiting for a few more people to belly up to the griddle before starting the meal. A couple walks in and he takes her coat. It's a full length fur. Beautiful. They sit down and we say "Hello". I nearly fall off my seat, but said nothing. My wife makes small talk with the mrs as if she didn't recognize them. After the meal, they went to the bar and we chose to leave. In the parking lot, I asked my wife if she knew who she was sitting next too. She hadn't recognized Bill Gates!

Not me, but my dad met the Olsen Twins. He was driving down a dark road in Ramona (San Diego) and there was a man, a lady, and 2 girls walking. He stopped to ask if they needed help. They said that they had run out of gas. He told them he would give them a ride if they needed it. When they got in the car he looked at the girls and said you look really familiar. Turned out to be the olsen twins and their parents.

RFK in '67 - I was 8 and my dad was a friend of the kennedy's from his political days. We met him at Burbank Airport and rode in his car on the way to dinner at the Sportsmans Lodge in the valley. Both my parents were at the Ambassador Hotel on June 8, 1968 when he was assinated. I remember waking up in the morning and going into the living room and the tv was on, my parents were asleep on the floor, my mom with her gown on and my dad still in his tux. I'll never forget that.

I have met a ton of famous people in my short 29 years of life. To many stories to tell, but here are a few. I was friends with Pat V(The Horse Jockey). While hanging with him on many ocassions, I had the chance to meet Alyssa Milano at his Agents B-Day Party. She was cool, and fun to party with. I Met Mel Brooks & Dick Van Patton at Santa Anita Race track. We sat in Mel Brooks Box. My Buddy called Dick Van Patten, Dick Van Dyke.. Well, it was funny at the time. I went to school with Jimmie Johnson (Nascar), Brian Giles (Padres). If you ever meet Brian, he is very fun to hang out with, just be careful because he will drink you under the table. Dennis Rodman came into a Night club that I was Managing in Pacific Beach.. He was there for over 6 hours. He was a Prick. I partied with Chuck Zito In Vegas at the Foundation Room. He is kinda Scarey. 38 Special was playing at the club I was Managing. I picked them up from there Hotel, and drove them to the Show. They where the funniest Southern Racists I have ever met. All they could talk about was NHRA, and Nascar.
There are a lot more stories, but I think I added enough..

Living next to Sun Valley I have had the privalige of meeting lots of famos and powerful people over the years but the person I meet when I was younger that impressed me the most was President Nixon. The things he accomplished in his life time far out weigh that little incident that happened in the 70's. Tim

I was a 17 year old kid working in a gas station in Westlake Village when I met most of these people.
Sophia Loren, she was still drop dead sexy at 60+ years old. jawdrop
Steve Yeager, the Dodgers cather from the 70's. Cool guy, he brought his Ferrari in for some work. I got to drive it from the shop to the front of the station the next morning. Very cool for a 17 year old kid.
Richard Widmark
Hal Linden (Barney Miller TV show)
Robert young, the actor that played Marcus Welby, M.D., at the dentist.
I met Jerry Buss in Palm Springs in the early 70's when he owned the Ocotillo Lodge. He paid me & my sister 25 cents to pick up towels at the pool.
Met Bill Clinton when he came to Sacramento to view some flooding in the mid 90's. He was a very nice man and in just a few moments of talking with him I felt like I'd known him for years. Whatever you think of his politics, he really seemed to care about people that were affected by the flooding.
Chuck Yeager, he was a small guy but was in excellent shape and still looked tough enough at 75+ years old to kick my ass.

I lived in Palm Springs from 82 to 94. Had a girlfriend that worked in the Nabisco Dina Shore golf tournament office. I would volunteer to work the week before and the week of the tournament. I got to go to all the parties. I did that four years.
Don Merdith, Had lunch with him a few times.
Frank and Kathy Lee Gifford, Kathy Lee was a trip.
Dina Shore, Very nice lady. My girlfriend did not like the way she was looking at me.
Jim and Jerri Plunket, When I first met Jim I told him I'm a Seahawk fan while I was shaking his hand and I thought he was going crush my hand. He was just playin. Very nice people.
Cherl Ladd, That girl was a beauty. Nice too.
Harvey Corman, I have a long story about him. That guy was soooo funny in person.
Mclain Stevenson, Another funny funny guy.
LT, I talked to him but I could not understand a word that he was saying.
Frank Sinatra
Bob Hope
Kenny Easley
Jim Mcmann
Don Drysdale
Claud Akins
Gerold Ford
OJ and Nicole
And a whole bunch more that I cannot remember right now.

Funny story...I use to work as a mail carrier in Agoura Hills years ago,we covered part of Malibu Hills...One time I was delivering mail to Gallaghers House. I had a package for him in addition to his regular mail and since he was standing in the front yard I decided to walk it up to him..
He was standing next to a fake bear about 3-4 ft high. I asked him what's up with the bear and he asked me if I had ever seen his shows. I said, "yes" I watch them all the time. he says, "well, you know how I always smash a watermelon and other food products and it gets stuff on about the 1st ten rows or so...I said, "yeah".. he say "well this bear is set up to spray water so I can hit the people in the last rows, in fact I'm testing it right now...he then turned it on and tried to spray me..I took off running but I was laughing so hard he almost soaked my ass...

One year while hunting in Georgia , I met Bobby Johns, (drummer) and Steve McNally (guitarist and vocals) for the group Roadmaster wich later became Exile. we sat arround the campfire in the evenings swapping stories and playing music. I was only 15 or so at the time but remember it well. also knew Frank L. Fitsimmons author of ,From the banks of the Oklawaha.
