Drag races at Firebird

Well, since the drives still broke (and me!) we went to the Nationals at Firebird Fri-Sun. Great weather, good runs. Here's a few.
Cruz Pedregon and Gary Densham go at it, Densham won with a 4.85 at 289.38 mph

Scott Geoffrion had the Mustang out at it's last race before it's replaced by an Escort. Good thing. Chute didn't open at the end of the run and he bounced it off the walls. Tore the car all to hell, but he was OK :)

Gorgious AA/PM Corvette owned by Rick Distefano. Ran a 6.48 but red lighted :(

The Top Fuel Final, Brandon Bernstein gets his first National win against Larry Dixon. Brandon ran a 4.57 at 322.50 to beat Dixon on a holeshot who ran 4.53 at 321.73 mph.

Funny Car Final, Ron Capps takes out Gary Densham with a 4.86 to a losing 4.81. Capps cut an almost perfect light to win on a holeshot.

Finally, Bill (CSX4266) and I bs'd our way into the timing tower to meet Bob Fry while he was announcing. Cool to watch him at work! Had to get a pic of Bill and Bob!

Thanks KC! We had a "few" at the races as well :D Yeah, that 'vette was wild. THere's another blown Altered there that was a gas to watch as well. Problem is those cars have such a short wheelbase, they're typically twitchy and don't go a lot of rounds!
