Just curious, it cost me 40$ to fill up the tahoe yesterday - I calculate it will cost me $105 to fill the boat.
With gas prices being where they are, and probably going higher, are you cutting back on the amount of boating this summer?

I'm just going to raise my prices for my customers. Workers comp is up, liability rates are way up, Office rent, vehicle expenses ....everything.
Its sad to pass the buck, but what else can you do??? Can't go boating less!!
I guess I could really degrade myself and get an outboard!!! :D :D

I imagine I'll still go out as much, but probably spend a little less time on the water.
Spend more time floating than cruising...

My right foot probably won't get as much exercise as it did last summer while ripping down the river but I am not about to cut down on trips. Probably just do a little more floating and sitting in coves than last season.I usually run most of the day between 3,200-3,500 rpm so I am not sucking tons of fuel. My induction set up also does not consume a S-load of gas so i think I will be alright. I will just be more cautious on budgeting for trips.

not cutting back on the the trips or how fast i go while i'm on the water. I wait all year long for this shit and i'd rather eat PB&J sandwiches than cut back on my boating fun.

Maybe a little more time pulled up on the beach ,but I doubt it.Even if it were $4.00 a gallon I would still put 25 or 30 gallons in and make it last 2 or 3 days.

I have to fill up on the lake, at least .30-.50 higher. We do save by not having to tow, so maybe it's a wash.

First, Venzuela's oil workers are on strike; then, as of Last Friday, I understand Nigeria oil workers went on strike (50% of Nigeria's oil goes to the U.S.); and if we invade Iraq, gas prices, well.... jawdrop
And in California, there will be a 100% phase-out of MTBE in a couple of months and the oil companies claim that this will temporarilay increase prices.
Hopefully when these events are ironed out, things will return to as they were.

Beer prices did go up!!! I have a friend who works for Budweiser who told me the product went up, and sure enough it was 20 clams for a case over here....used to pay 16 at Walgreens. Just now spent 32 bucks on gas for the work van and it was a little over half a tank.....Still won't stop using either though.

Someone is allways looking for ways to get more $$$$$$$'s out of my wallet, & just when I get a new boat! No boat for past 3 years due to small kids now will have to resort to selling more tools to make more money!

Good question, don't think I will cut down on any of the boating or running the boat. Actually we have more trips planned than last year. wink Just need to sell rides once we get the boat in the water. :D

Unocal 110 was $ 4.00 last summer how much worse can it get. I'm going to boat just as much regardless of price. Fortunately I don't have to pay for gas to commute to the river.

My solution is to raise the compression ratio of the engine to increase efficiency. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Really a shame that my wife has all my BS figured out now...

I agree it cost to much to boat, so everyone should stay off Havasu until next season or when the price comes down.
The less of you boater's on the lake = nice for me!

In the early 80's(some gas crisis was going on then too) we were paying $2.25-$2.50 a gallon at the marina at Apache Lake in AZ. I had everybody pitchin in or no boat ride. No gas or cash no ski :p

Interesting, Unocal's 114 octane is still $4.72 per gallon when bought by the drum.
Still don't expect it to slow me down, used 5 drums last year, about 70 gallons on one trip at Havasu. Don't feel so bad paying that high price when 92 octane is going for over $2.00
The old saying "If you have to ask, you can't afford it" will start to apply here.
