Just got back from a day at the lake. Was talking to a neighbor of my parents who was telling me about his boat. It is a sea ray pachanga. Said he has 305 power in a 20' sea ray and getting 80+ mph. Told him I would have to be in the boat and see the GPS to believe that and then the GPS would be suspect. Said he is turning around 4800 rpms with a 23 pitch prop. Not sure what drive. Just sounded like a 50 mph lake boat being stretched. Anyone ever messed with one of these?

I agree with these guys.
For 80 MPH with a 23" prop, 4,800 RPMs, and 10% slip, he would need a drive with a gear ratio of 1.18 to 1.
More likely he has an Alpha with 1.5 which would give him 62 MPH.

That's what I thought. He claimed DNR clocked him on radar. I don't think they even have radar in the DNR boats since we don't have a speed limit. Hopefully I'll get the Hondo done in a couple of weeks and call his bluff. Was in the ole baja with the 4 cylinder today. It runs a legit 44 mph...Kinda leaves ya wanting more...A LOT MORE. oh well a day at the lake swapping lies is about as good as it gets anyway.

DREAM ON, I bet that he could only see 60 tops. :p I had a 20 ft maxum with a 5.7L Alpha 1 and with that same prop config I couldn't hit 65. :o That is too much drag penalty for the small V8 to handle.
