Ok i did not get time this year to re ring my 540. The motor has about 30hrs on it and inthe middle of last season i didinot have time re ring it right. I melted 2 pistons with a dsit going bad. I threw old rings on new pistons. yes i know it was not right but the season would have over up here by time i would have gotten it back from a machine shop. So my question is, can i get the proper finish out of a bead hone or some other type of in garage hone for file fit or gapless rings to seal on? I have a lttel bow by right now..... Or do i have to take it in and get it done on a sunnen or some other large hone? I put the motor together the first time in winter of 2004 and was very happy withthe results. Untill i melted it
