Like you maybe ??? :) Exactly....here's the deal, we are thinking of maybe going out on Saturday morning, we are not sure though. The parents are coming into town on Friday that weekend, but I really want to go out there. I am thinking of a way to work it, but not sure right now.
We are going to be there the weekend after, if you want to chill with us.

you can use my boat if you want to Ty :) I gave the carb to Wes and $100 up front if that is cool.
Ari, you are or arent going to be there for the 4th ? I just want to go somewhere that my boat wont crack or sink because of the ocean like water characteristics, plus I love the sandbar there.

Try the Microtel Inn off Fortuna Rd. Newer place, lots of boat parking and it looks like rooms are still available.

Good luck...

Martinez sure seems like a place that needs a good resort/hotel. I've been out there a couple of times and it is nice on the water.
Hotel/housing is kinda 3rd world in some spots. Maybe that is the charm, though. A fancy place could spoil it and make it crowded....then it would lose what makes it different.

yeah, when you are kind of not into camping, its a hard place to go because of the lack of room/board, but I like the whole "roughing it" thing, its fun doing that stuff ... sometimes. We have always stayed at the marine campground with the bungalows and those are perfect.

Mandelon is right on IMO.
<speaking mostly of Fisher's> The problem with building anything nice is that most of it is on land leased from the BLM. I heard that the lease was/is up for renewal or the lease is being sold to a new buyer (I've heard both stories), so there is a lot of uncertainty for many who have a place out there. Anyone know if this has been resolved?
The few people who actually own the ground under their house/trailer are sitting on a gold mine. Check out this $350K 700sq ft shack (http://realtor.com/FindHome/HomeListing.asp?snum=451&frm=bymap&pgnum=46&mls=xmls&js=on&fid=so&vtsort=&ss_aywr=&poe=realtor&ct=yuma&st=AZ&zp=&mnprice=0&mxprice=99999999&mnbed=0&mnbath=0&typ=1&typ=3&mnsqft=0&exft=0&exft=0&exft=0&exft=0&exft=ewater&exft=eriverview&lid=&areaid=787&sid=01193CC651EAC&snumxlid=1026730118&lnksrc=00003) and this one for $479K (http://realtor.com/FindHome/HomeListing.asp?snum=456&frm=bymap&pgnum=46&mls=xmls&js=on&fid=so&vtsort=&ss_aywr=&poe=realtor&ct=yuma&st=AZ&zp=&mnprice=0&mxprice=99999999&mnbed=0&mnbath=0&typ=1&typ=3&mnsqft=0&exft=0&exft=0&exft=0&exft=0&exft=ewater&exft=eriverview&lid=&areaid=787&sid=01193CC651EAC&snumxlid=1026542037&lnksrc=00002) ...
There also seems to be a good ol' boy network running the place that wants to keep keep it low profile, knowing that fixing it up will attact us boating types. No offense to them, if I lived there year round and just wanted to fish, hunt and get drunk (nice generalization eh?) I wouldn't want more traffic, dust and noise. On the other hand why not slap down some pavement, give us a decent place to stay and make some money off us?
BTW, anyone know if/when they are planning for more trailers by Pruitt City?

I heard the Trailers where going in where the Runway was, sometime in the next year. 100+ Units.. But then again,I would imagine you need to be on the Buddy list to get in there. I am leasing a spot at Martinez, with the hope if they ever subdivide, I can buy the land and put up a Manufactured home.

Anybody know of any good places ? You can hang with Wes at the Military deal, if there are spot available? Martinez has cabins too. Look at the links on my Martinez page there maybe something you can use. I miss that place :( I had a lot of good times down there.
