Many of you may have noticed that the site has not been available off and on over the last few days. We have the people at Hurricane Electric (our hosting company) working hard to figure out what went wrong. Sorry for the inconvenience.

It seemed like this site was dying a slow death. :p

I thought I might have pissed everybody off and drove everyone away. Plus, I have not taken a shower for a couple days eek! , and I have been mfg'ing quite a bit of methane with the cold that I have  .

Well just an update, it turns out someone decided to change the DNS for ***boat.net. I am not sure why or who even has access to that, but we have identified the problem and it is on its way to being fixed. The bad news is that DNS changes take about 24 hours to happen. The good news is that http://free.***boat.net still maps to the forums so you can just go there to get into the forums.

Ok problem identified and on its way to being fixed. DNS takes about 24 hours to roll over. Hopefully back online in less.

DNS takes 24 hours to rollover? What? It would have been easy to redirect to another DNS server.... I'd get a new hosting company!

***boat, You've got bigger issues than just the DNS. When running a tracert to ***boat.net, I am timing out at 216.39.96.19 which is an exodus.net router. This is a few hops away from the ***boat.net IP address 216.77.72.209, which incidentally, I cannot ping. The Hops between are also at very slow ms levels. Sounds like a routing issue to me...
If it was a DNS issue, I'd be able to access HB using the IP address, which I cannot do.
I would look much deeper into it than assuming it is just a DNS issue since the ***boat.net IP is also not pingable... If ya's need any troubleshooting/diagnostics from a remote location, give a yell.

More info...when pinging free.***boat.net's IP of 64.71.134.130 it pings ok, but rather slow. When putting in the IP address in the browser (thereby bypassing DNS) it comes up to Hurricane Electric's website.... Get them kids outta them servers and get the route rebuilt correctly!

It is very weird. My work PC has not had a problem accessing the forums or anything. My home unit cannot get the forums or the main site. I get an instant 'specified server cannot be found' on the forums. On the main site, it will time out or 'connection has failed'.

I think the problem is a diatomic particle breakdown in the receptacle for the subnuclear fission conduit leading to fragmentation of the warp core. You better get Mr.Scott in here ASAP!!!
