Took this big ol pig to tha drags on sat, nice 60 degree day, added 70lbs of weight to the car, finally got it to hook and ripped off an 11.887 @ 117.141.
Went all the way to fourth round and made 20 bucks. :D

Blown, Wha'cha runnin for power in that 'ol pig? Way cool BTW :D It is a stock bore, stock stroke, stock rod and crank 440, iron heads with stock valves, isky 547/555 cam with a Kuhl race 6:71 with two 800's. 727 that I built, with 2:76 to 1 rear gear, race weight 4430 and I am driving the blower 3% under @ 6 psi. Using a 20% drivetrain loss the calc (not an lv unit) :D says I am making 666.90 hp which seems fitting for this car.
Thanks for the kind words, this car has been a huge learning experiance.

Awesome time no matter what it is. My question is how is it for consistency?
Well that and why not step on the blower, drop the rear gears to something around 3.55 add some traction capable meat to the back and hold on. Theres potential for high 10's there if you set up for it and tweak.
Still, anytime you can power a beast that big into the 11's and use it to go grocery shopping pat yourself on the back.

I run Blowns combo thru my Drag Simulation program and his setup is hard to beat. I used differant tires and gearing and didn't come up with much better numbers than what he got. Way to go Blown. I didn't beleive it at frist but you could be in the low 11s with some pro street tires. :D :D :D

Theres more potential there than your simulation is telling you.
With a 28" tire, 2.76 rear gear and 1:1 final in the trans his RPM at 117 mph is only 3880. Admittedly I'm guessing at the duration of his cam but judging by the lift I'd say a 23x* @.050". With that set up and running 10 psi, maybe 12 if the bottom end can handle it then no, he won't see much of an increase.
Now go with a 3.55 or so rear, fix the traction issues that the lowewr gears will cause, add a little stall to the converter to let the engine get into it's power right away and a good set of drag tires and I can see where knocking a full second off the ET is possible.
#'s don't lie, look at the figures and you'll see he's still pulling hard when he trips the lights.
By youw own words Hal, "I didn't beleive it at first but you could be in the low 11s with some pro street tires." When you add 75+hp, and a harder launch on those same tires 10's are possible.
Like I said earlier, awesome job on the 11.8 Blown... Now work on 10's :D
BTW, what was your 60' time?

what track did you run at? the trap seems low.

The 60 foots suck cuz it spins the tires, 2.0 most of the time but it really comes on half track.
Your numbers are pretty much right on, I go thru the traps at 4000 rpm.
I am going to move the springs into the frame rails, put some super stock springs in it, mini tub and some micky thompson et streets. I will try the 2:76 gear just to see what it will do then I am going to go with a 3:91 gear on a 28 inch tall tire. That is all winter work as summer is so short here I dont want the car laid up right now.
I run it at wir in kaukauna, wi. Thanks agian. :D
The car is somewhat consistaint if I can get it off the line without spinning the tires, the beauty of it is I can run most of cars down at half track and stand on the brake in the lights, I have to dial a 12.10, cuz if I run a 11.99 or lower during comp they will kick me up to the next bracket.

Man, if your going to go through all the work to relocate the springs why not go with a ladder bar set up? I know it's not the best for cornering but I doubt the car turns well now. You'll also get the benifit of not having to worry about spring wrap (you do have leafs right?).
FWIW, I have a friend in IL thats building an 89 Firebird. It's got a mild 468 with a B&M 177 blower, Heavily built TH400 with kevlar clutches, tubular front crossmember with matching front and rear suspensions, and Kenny Brown sub frame connectors. Conservetive estimates put the engine around 650 hp. We're thinking mid-10's if he can hook up.

Thought bout that but dodge did their homework on the springs, my buddy with a 65 dart and a small block has ss springs and a pinion snubber and runs 10.67. eek!
