Some may have heard about Jerry Hicks getting pitched. Well, he's a tough ol' guy (74 and driving a 140 mph drag jet boat) and other than a little bruised, he's fine. Gave us a scare, though.
This is what most of the day looked like. There were some CRAZY things happening! For the most part it was windy, rainy, and freezin ass cold.

Jerry said there were some cracks in the side around the support webs, but didn't know how bad, and would look more closely today.

I was at the other end of the track waiting to put the hydro in and heard he was going 40-50 mph when he got tossed. Hit some rollers.

Did CS get tossed in the lake when the weekend was over?
Did all that work Elvis (bob fry) and Pops do to his Texas Tunnel over the winter pay off with a little ET?
Did Wrong Way Parrack leg a full pass in the BAH?
Did Cress really go 7.80ET in BGJ?
Did Joe Morgan lay the smack down in the 8.50 bracket again?
oh and Was CS19 really talking on his cell phone on the holding rope saturday afternoon??? :crossx:

I got some pics of morgan doing that pass.Pretty good run i can say.I like that he runs the same scoop i do though/That might be why he ran so good.LOL
weekend went good for us as far as adapting to a new ride and being away for 2.5 years. My old boat got a very good lesson in nitrous(micro switch activated boat stalled driver gave it full throttle trying to restart dump NOS and boom went the scoop when it sparked motor) was ok not hurt ended up going an 8.44 at 122 against cs19 but chris advaned cause our driver went too fast and red lighted. As for me i got a full pass in the new ride(boat 004) but more importantly learned to set the boat which was priority but hurt motor during the pro gas flat pass.Had no intention of makin a full pass but it felt right so i let it go pedaled most of way down but pulled a very good 1/8th at 4.49

Did Wrong Way Parrack leg a full pass in the BAH? thought it was a BGH, but oh well, who cares, that was fun to watch (and scary). dont think it ever laid down a clean pass, but hes go big ol kohoneeeees. he was all over the place on one pass and just kept gettin in to it
Did Cress really go 7.80ET in BGJ? believe it was a 7.81, that was on saturday. had a couple low 8 passes on sunday... forget his time in the final against willis, but willis laid down a 8.14 and then an 8.11 in the final against cress, quickest he's ever been

Hello People,
:argue:
In the finals. 0440 time was - 8.573 @114.2567
#149 was 8.116 @ 125.20
This weekend was grate; all the problems were solved at the last minute.
I want to take this opportunity to thank Tom Papp for allowing me to work on the boat during preseason. Tom has a class “A” operation at his shop and I just can’t say enough to extend my gratitude.
During the qualifying runs Saturday, the “Tsunami - #149” blew off the pump snout. That seemed like it was all over for us until Jim Brock and Tom Rainsville save the day.
Tom Rainsville, NJBA Board Member, brought a snout from home and it was installed.
But, most of all, I want to thank all the racers who were there!!
Willis

Thanks for the pics those are great. The boat ran awseome all weekend. Best pass was 8.42 @125 with the spedo pick up hangin all the way down. Several other passes in the 8.4s. The boat could probably run a low 8.30 but we won't be going there.
Ran a 8.56 in the final to win.
Congrats to Chris Braun for his win in ubfj in the "usual suspects" he broke out against me in the round before the fina with a 8.492, he had his machine on point.
Cs motor took a shit so he had to dq himself before the second round.
Look out for whats up his sleeve! :220v:
Raznos dominated the 9.0 braket with cs being out and layed the serious swat on a flat in the final. Suprise hah! We had a great race in the first round of ubfj with me barely taking the win,it was fun. Mark is amazing he can run a 9.0 when needed then crank it up and run a 8.65.
Tom Bandy easily took pro gas jet in "tom cat".
Bp took runner up in pro gas jet, tough order taking on Bandy.
The weather sucked hard but coming home with the trophy makes it worth it.
Mike Miller was running really good with consistent 8.0s and 8.1s but found out the hard way the spedo pick up is really worth a tenth. Broke out with a 7.97 great job your boat gets with it.
