Today on the news in El Cajon the gas price for premium was over $4 a galon. In Huntington Beach it is between $2.15 & $2.40.

He put his prices at that level because he knew the publicity he would receive having the highest prices in the country. Anyone stupid enough to pay that deserves what they get. Barnum was right.

Hey, anyone know of an electric motor that will bolt up to my jet? It's all about ZEV! Has anyone seen the movie Mission to Mars? There was a great line by Tim Robbins while sitting in 60's corvette: "Internal combustion... Accept no substitues!"

I live right around the corner from that station. I haven't seen a car there for al least a week, exept for the news crews. Even the manager doesn't know why the owner raised the prices. They stopped taking ATM/debit cards a while back. Who knows WTF is going on there.

Actually, it's a pretty good way to get free advertisement. After all this funnels through the news, he can just lower it back.

But in the meantime the dude is not selling one ounce of fuel....He's losing a buttload of money to the stations across the street.

Not to defend in the least eek! , but I was an independent gas station owner in the early 80's and when gas prices start jumping like this, you as a dealer never know what your going to have to pay to replace what you just sold. Ya buy it for say $1.45 and ya sell it at $1.55 and then your supplier tells you, your next load is going to cost you $1.65, the wholesaler's and their suppliers are the asswipes(mostly) that cause this crap.....Hang on to your wallets its going to get much worse.

I imagine he is doing some form of protest with his suppliers. My guess is, he has some kind of contract or something that he found a way out of, using some of the tactics that AZKC said with forecasting.

nah, he's just making money from the auto repair in the garage there. There is no fuel in the tanks at all and i saw the news crews over there the other day. Last i heard that station was bought by Shell, so he won't get any fuel from Texaco and until he changes the place to Shell signs, he won't get any fuel from them either.
Always someone playing games!

I got it.
For that price maybe a knob job from some hot seniorita is included. :)
That’s why he doesn’t take plastic.

Maybe he's tied to terrorist organizations and is part of the whole oil conspiracy. He's probably gonna stock pile the cheap stuff and priced it so high no one will buy it, then when everyone else is at $2.75 he can reduce back to $1.50 and have lines of people/cars...think I'll stay clear of that station for safety alone. Probably the first place to get bombed when there are lines of people for his cheap petrol.

Gas prices really suck. I live in El Cajon and there are a few gas stations that are not even selling gas because of the price. That guy at the texaco must have lost his mind.
