Need info on a Chaparral Villain II

I am currently looking at a project boat, 87 Chaparral Villain II. The boat was a factory 350 (260hp) with the alpha 1. The owner let the boat sit up and freeze the block and manifolds are junk but not sweating that just wandering if anyone has any knowlage of the boats good bad or otherwise.

Ok is the boat that rare? (or that big of a P.O.S.)I searched the web and could not find any info on it. I would think if it was worth a crap someone would know somthing? I have not made the deal yet and I really LOVE the looks of the boat but, I don't want it if the hull won't perform.

My understanding is the Villain was Chaparral Boats performance hull. Like Vip's Vindicator, or Sea Ray? Pachanga? I've only seen one run. There is a guy here in Tucson that used to run around in one with a blown big block, and it ran real good! I think he was making 5-600 hp and running mid to high 70's. I wish I knew more, but like I said his boat ran pretty good.

That is a very good production performance hull, they bring about 4-6K in good running condition.
I will say I have never seen one with a Small Block? Good Luck! wink

Thanks for the input. I have done enough reading here to figure out the alpha drive will hold up under decent power as long as it is treated well. If everything falls into place I will be running it this summer with a good small block, and hopefully ovet next winter it will get a new outdrive and big block. Also the boat is the 19 foot verson. were the ones that yall (yes I am southern) saw larger models? (they made a about 4 diffrent sizes)
