Ok, so I stopped by Renegade at lunch today to scope out the dual jet deal they are working one. I guess I missed it with the engine in it. Was in for mock up but was back out when I was there. Anyway, the last pics I posted sucked so I though you might enjoy these.
If you don't like big pics, well to bad, I do. :D
As you can see this is a pretty big boat. Never mind the old shop trailer. It's got a nice trailer waiting.

You can see just how deep this sucker is by the transom shot.

I guess it's getting a slick billet cover for the gap. I didn't see it but hear they look real nice.

I like that it's wide and deep. What's up with that pitot tube hangin off the transom? It will cost 2-3mph. What does Harold estimate the top speed to be?

I like it... but I agree, if your going to the extent of dual drives, spend the extra money and get a GPS speedo, might come in handy when testing and stuff. I like the hull, hope it runs out good, I have interest in something like that... Just not an outdrive fan, love the jets.

That definitely looks pretty interesting!! Hope it runs well. What are they hoping to eliminate or gain by adding dual jets. Do you know who designed the gear box? Looks pretty sweet!!

The geabox was designed by Gary Smith of Gear Manufacturing, Inc. The Dual Drive system works great. I've driven some of the boats that have it, and they really perform great. Jetfan.

How are they going to seal around the two pumps? He said there is a billet plate that he did'nt get pix of. I think this is a pretty cool idea if it works. Do the pumps counter-rotate like twin outdrives, or is that even a factor with jets?

SWEET!I wonder how long it will be until some other manufacturers decided to put these things in their 23-25 footers?I really like the 23 Razor(Cobra)and 247XS(Ultra)but a jet is mandatory equipment for me here.Any word on how it compares pricewise to a sterndrive setup?

TwistedPair,
There's no counterrotation, just water in and water out.
HighRoller,
I talked to Harold last month about a refit of my Carlson 24. He said he put the dualjet system on a 25' Hallett with a 500EFI. On his first holeshot he bent the steering wheel with his hands. jawdrop

Catmando: The 25' boat that has a Dual Drive is actually a 25' Howard, and not a Hallett, although there is little doubt that a Hallett will perform great too with a Dual Drive. I drove the Howard last December, and it jumps out of hole like a 19' jet. Dual Drives are definitely the way to go. Jetfan.

jetfan,
Did I at least get the motor right? :o PM me with your emailaddy and I will send you some pics of my boat so you can tell me if the dual jet system will fit on my transom. I myself don't see any reason it wouldn't, but Harold wasn't sure.

So how does the top speed and crusing rate with that setup? Anything close to an I/O?
