I still need to put a bimini on my 2000 Roger's 21' Open Bow. Does anyone know of a good place in the Inland Empire that is respectable with their work and in the pocketbook. I talked to a neighbor and he said expect to pay between $600-$700 for one.
Is this the going rate?
Thanks

I paid $650 for a solid color top, heavy stainless tubing, zip cover and extra set of brackets for traveling. He also did some cover modifications onmy snap top too. If you want custom color panels or a pattern it really ups the price.

I got a 3-color top for $500 a couple years ago, but I also ordered a cover to match from a place in Anahiem.

The major cost differences are stainless tubing vs aluminum.
How important is one versus the other?

How important is one versus the other? Slick, this a great question. Which one is more durable under those wind storms out there on the river?
Has anyone had a bimini collapse on them due to high winds?

I would think that stainless is stronger than aluminum...thoughts?

I had an aluminum top on the last boat. It would be stable at 50mph but just didn't seem that heavy duty. It was an Overton's special.
New one is Stainless and is heavy and solid. Just seems much better. Cost is obviously more going custom and installed compared to a catalog. About twice as much....but worth it for a better quality boat. Think how many of your overweight drunken friends are going to be hanging on it!!! :D

HH, what was the name of the place...I work at Anaheim HS, which would be very convenient! A small operation called "Boat Covers and Bimini Tops By Nancy" off Brookhurst. (714) 772-0342. Not sure if she's still there. Her only drawback is that I don't think she bends the supports herself.
Aluminum is lighter, but stainless is stronger.
If you want a 100MPH bimini, then stainless is the ticket, but you can't use the strap supports- gotta go with poles, like the deckboats.
Since most people want strap supports for the convenience, you're limited right off the bat- no need to go stainless. The straps won't like alot of wind.

Give GS Marine in Corona a call. I am pretty sure they use/recommend Adlee if memory serves me correctly. We had one put on about 3 years ago and quality/construction is top notch. As I recall it was in the $6-700 price range for a custom 3 color bimini.

Start out with lots of compliments. Offer a cold one, and make sure fresh silvers follow regularly. Make a few comments about how beautiful you think the exposed female breast is, and ......
Oh, wait. Bimini? Shit, I thought you said Bikini!!! :D :D
