NBC report was wrong (Big Surprise) Geraldo is still in Iraq with the troops. NBC was probably trying to take attention away from Arnett.

The media is scrambling for stories and information. The last Gulf war was done from a far against forces that did not believe they had a right to be in Kuwait in the first place. Therefore, tons more info was given out. This time it is on someone's home turf which tends to piss people off a hell of a lot more. In order to make the operation successful and protect the troops, much less info is being disclosed. This makes those that live and die by public perception and TV ratings cringe for info. Unfortunately it also causes them to report irresponsibly.
