A few years back an acquaintence of mine went out to see the wildflowers in bloom. They came back with pictures of some area in the So Cal desert (Anza?) that had fields of wildflowers in bloom for as far as one could see. They said this was an annual thing, especially after a nice wet winter.
Anyone know where this happens? I like to take the Misses out there for a weekend day trip to check it out. I'd ask the folks who showed me the pics, but they're my ex-inlaws(Not a good thing).

I don't know where that place you mention is, but if you're up for a drive north...the Santa Ynez Valley has some beautiful hills covered in wild flowers and there are some great wineries for wine tasting (goes hand in hand with romance) wink beware all the romance might prompt you to committ an illegal act of love in public :D

Wild Flowers = weeds.
They are nice to look at, but they're essentially weeds. As you look at them, remember that that's what will be burning in August during the brush fire season.

LMAO...what a lovely positive outlook :p wink It reminded me of the time Miller made an AWESOME picnic for me, He brought a special blanket we got in the UK while on our honeymoon, we had a very lovely time on a hillside in the middle of nowhere with wine, cheese, rolling hills, flowers, etc...it was perfect!!! :D But Miller spent about a year pulling those stickers (aka foxtails) out of our special blanket...he actually bought the exact same blanket while in England later that year as a replacement before the original blanket was foxtail free.
Just remember: an hour of romance can = a year of sticker picking

Drove by the Poppy Reserve out here yesterday on the way home from the lake. It was packed and had lots of Poppies.
Made the wife happy to see all those flowers, am I getting sensitive? wink

No kidding, every house lot in Havasu is loaded with them(either yellow or purple), including mine! Wife picked most in front yard but back yard will require some flame throwing device after they dry up some.
eek! eek!

Several different types of “weed” out there in that Anza/Aguanga area, be sure to stay within civilized boundaries :D :D :D
No wonder they claim to see so many UFO’s…..dunno.
I remember going to a country store in Anza many years back. We were buying beer, but this toothless, 80ish looking old man asked us if we needed some pot, laughing his ass off as he said he wouldn’t card us!
Sad part is we only had money for the beer eek! eek!
