Lowes sell that model for $399.
I bought the same one from Harbor Freight for my garage, same price, no tax, free shipping.
It has enough capacity for a home workshop, as always, using multiple air tools will keep it running. Not the quietest one around but the next step up is a large jump in money.
A good buy if it is local and in good condition.

Speaking of air compressors - I'd like to buy one but don't know what the key features are so I can comparison shop. Anyone with compressor buying/using experience care to tell me what to look for and make some recommendations for home use (air tools and inflating tires, etc.).
Thanks

If you click on the link you can see that it is a "cast iron" compressor. Isn't that one of the criteria that you mentioned???

Dan,as someone who has used compressors for about everything I can tell you this. There's a big difference between a compressor that runs an air tool and one to air up a car tire. The difference is in the time it takes to regain working pressure and also size of the tank.An industrial compressor like a tire shop uses will recharge the tank within 30 seconds.A typical garage(home) compressor will take 2-5 minutes to fill a tank a third the size.If you don't use air tools constantly stick with a medium size home unit because the industrial units are VERY costly.
